Would you do it?

I don't understand why people pose these impossible hypotheticals. We fans have no control over either situation. Unless you have some genie in a bottle.

I do, it is locked in my basement........

Would you give up the next 10 years to mediocrity if it meant we ran the table this year, beating GB and
Seahawks at home, and finishing up with a Superbowl victory against New England or Denver? Which is arguably one of the hardest roads to a Superbowl.

If you said yes, just remember this, we have one of the youngest team's in the NFL (minus QB). And not only are they young, but they're extremely talented. You'd basically be throwing away extremely young talented players like Dez, Tyron, Bailey, Martin, Frederick, Lee, ect;

On the flip side, if you said no, just remember there's no guarantees in the NFL. Sure we have a talented team, but what if Romo's career is finished quicker then we think? Whether that's due to injury, or skill decline, this team is only as good as the man at the helm.

I personally would say yes, I'd give up 10 years of mediocrity to win another Super Bowl. After going so long without one, I realize they're very rare to come by and teams no longer win 2-3 of them in a row. If we had a younger QB who was just as talented (Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck), I would reconsider it, but with Romo I believe our window is only 2-3 years. That's if he continues to play at a high level.

So how about you guys? Would you do it?

If there was a QB on our roster that we were grooming of some sorts I would say no, but the fact that QB is not only the most important position on the field, it is the hardest position to fill. I am answering yes.

@dexternjack

Feel free to invite others over, nothing wrong with sharing. :D

I knew I wasn't the only one.

Absolutely not.

I wouldn't even be able to enjoy the guaranteed championship since it wasn't earned.

It's just a simple question for discussion on a Cowboy forum(used for discussion). Nothing more nothing less. :)

Seriously, what kind of discussion are you expecting when you pose a known impossible hypothetical based on an illogical premise? :)

So is that a no? Or a yes? :laugh:

Put me down as a 'maybe definitely.' Or better yet, now since you have a genie in a bottle, I assume you can also travel back in time. So, had you asked me this question 11 years ago, I would have said YES! Please take us back 11 years and repose the question. And remind me to buy Apple stock and Google stock.

I assume you are going to document all the responses in a lock box for the sake of history. Having assumed that, what nefarious plan do you have up your sleeve?:)

Lighten up, Francis.

Geez.

Yes, Yes, and Yes.

I seriously can't be the only one who would take the deal. Well I mean on the forums, because we all know Jerry took a similar deal. :laugh:

How did this start? is there even the slightest truth, that he admitted to it or something?

I hope you're right, I think this is the year ... but man that's one brutal road to get to the show.

If we get past the Lions, I think it's almost a lock. A hobbled Rodgers, then we maybe face Hawks or Panthers, maybe even the Cards? I like.

Then hopefully Denver can get knocked off. Then maybe we face like the Steelers or NE. Actually not NE, I'm scared of their D. Maybe Colts again or Ravens get lucky, lol

no, not at all...while this off season would be GREAT in my neck of the woods, the eagles, giant and steeler fans around me would have a short memory and get all over me with the 10 mediocre years...it's all about Fredd

I want so badly for them to win it. But I want to be competitive for years to come. Honestly I would still probably take it. Even though I would regret it.
