Would you draft Frank Clark?

yes.we dont have any moral ground to stand on once we brought in hardy.

The question should not be whether WE, as a fan, would do it...because WE don't run the FO and draft.

It is whether the Cowboys would do it.

They have met with him to get an idea if he would be ok for them or not...what we don't know is the decision they have came up with at this time.

Tough call. Seems Dallas has their hands full with taking on Hardy and already working with Josh Brent. Might be better to pass on him this season.
Yeah. It is a tough call. I'd say maybe more from a PR standpoint though, than in the locker room.

I don't think Hardy is a locker room issue guy--he's just a bit quirky. The issue with him is public perception.
So our front office spent a lot of the public good-will lee-way (if there is any) on Hardy. Not much room for more on top of that....public perception-wise.

Josh Brent is no locker room issue at all.
He's one of the best teammates they have--and always as been. He made a terrible decision driving his friend home one night when they were both drunk. Terrible choice. But has a day to day guy, he's great, from what I've heard.

My guess is that the bigger head case might be Ro McClain. Hope not.

If Clark was still there really late, I'd consider it. The cost/risk/neg. publicity is so much lower at that point. On the other hand, I'd be fine if they passed on him as well.

5th round...possibly, depends who's left. 7th round without a doubt. Anything before that most likely not. But again, as fans we have maybe 25% of the whole story to go by so who knows. But the fact that he just narrowly (luckily) missed his 2nd felony before age 22 may be telling of his character.

I doubt the Cowboys want to add another potential head case with Hardy and McClain here.

It does seem odd they seem to be keeping their fingers to the pulse of questionable character players, this year especially.

They have been linked to or visited directly with Clark, Marcus Peters, Paul Dawson, David Irving, P.J. Williams, Josh Shaw and Karlos Williams, all of which have some character flags. Either they are doing due diligence or there might be a shift in moving away from putting players "in the box".

When McClay was promoted he indicated he would be more willing to look at character issues players but less likely to draft injury issue players.

They have also rebuilt the roster with RKGs which should allow them to draft/sign some character risk players. The undisciplined, self-entitled roster that Garrett inherited from Wade was not prepared to keep new character issues players on the straight and narrow. They had too many leaders like Ratliff back then.

Yes, we as fans are dependent on media reports. There tend to be extensive media reports on a guy like Hardy, but the information is limited on some unknown college kid.

The Cowboys would have to do a very thorough work up on Clark for both of his incidents. Felony theft is bad by itself, but the domestic violence charge is even more troubling. On the surface, I would stay away from this guy.

Teams have enough of a challenge keeping players who come without red flags out of trouble. Some of the stuff you see might be a guy at his very worst meaning it isn't likely to happen again. But you also might be seeing a guy getting caught for what has been a pattern of ingrained behaviors. I'd steer clear

Interesting.

Was listening to the 4/17 draft show and they were talking about Frank Clark. Dane was saying that he has had multiple issues and not just one.

Broaddus said that he KNOWS and I type it like that because he said it loudly with emphasis, that someone that will be sitting in the draft room on draft day likes Frank Clark. I don't know if he was inferring it was Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, Jason Garrett, Will McClay, Coach Rod or one of the other scouts or coaches.

I would guess Rod or Will, because they have probably met with him face to face and did the workout. Unless he came to VR or Senior Bowl, I doubt Stephen or Jerry ever meet the players.
