I know it isnt as easy as it seems because of the cap and guys that we need to resign and everything but Asomugha will get the franchise tag, possibly trufant. D Hall is unhappy in atlanta they have big cap problems and they need as many draft picks as they can get. If a team calls and asks for our #22 and a 3rd do you pull the trigger or is our cap space to limited. I mean why wait for a young corner 3-4 years when were this close from getting that superbowl, should we attack 1 now or just go through the draft, and these corners are extremely young and elite so why not go for it. Your thoughts?

Well i kinda agree we dont know whats going on inside Jerry jones head but he has to realize we are very close and if we can get a franchise cb to go along with newman, you can get rid of williams and put nobody there it wont even matter our secondary will be so good. I say screw the draft were the 4th youngest team in the nfl ecspecially our secondary, why waste picks when we can use them for young elite players. But the cap is a problem and could be in this case

Odds are good that many first round CBs will become starters in their first season. Newman did it for us back in 03 and Aaron Ross did it for the Giants this year. Other CBs drafted in 07 also started for their teams. This is a good class of CBs and we are in good position at 22 to get a really good CB who can start or at least play in the slot. So there's no way we trade one of our first & a 3rd for a vet CB. I'm hoping for Dominick Rodgers-Cromartie myself.

BTW: If we can get Cromartie with our 22nd pick, I'd have no problem with Jerry trading our 28th to Atlanta for their 37th & 48th picks in the 2nd round or their 2nd & 3rd rounders. That would give us 4 remaining picks to grab a good WR, RB, maybe an OL & another CB like Patrick Lee of Auburn.

In my opinion getting another very good corner solves all our secondary problems.

You play Newman, Henry, Hamlin, and Roy on 1st. Passing downs you bring in the 3rd corner, move Henry to FS, Hamlin to SS, and play the nickel w/ possibly J Reeves. (Say what you want, but you cant have an all pro DB who's 3rd string. Not realistic Overall, he does a solid job, though he does make mistakes. He's 26 I though, I believe)

Oh wow if we could get Nsa...not even gonna try to spell it. The dude for the Raiders...we get that cat and oh wow our pass defense would be sick.

I'll take Roy Williams for our first rounder though. That'l do just fine.

I like Cromaartie too. He had a great Senior Bowl and that tells me that when given an opportunity to shine, he takes it and does good things with it. Plus, if he's anything like his brother (Antonio is it??) who plays for SD, he's be great by his 2nd year.

I was very disappointed in how poorly Adarius Bowman from Ok State played. Kinda makes me wonder if he plays small in big games....

yea I would give up our #22 pick for a 3rd CB in a heartbeat!!!!

by drafting one!!! From what I have read from all the "expert" mock drafters there should be at least 2 good young CB prospects when #22 rolls around. While I am at it, I would definetly trade #28 to the lions for Roy Williams

I'm still frustrated to this day that we passed on Cromartie to get Carpenter. Granted he was coming off a knee injury, but I said from day one Carp only made plays because he played alongside AJ Hawk and didnt think he would do much. So far he hasnt.

We could have drafted Manny Lawson too. Then we could have drafted Dwyane Bowe last year instead of Spencer

There is no CB that we can get that is worth it. Hall is NOT ONE OF THEM.

Atlanta would think mana was falling from heaven if you offered that much for Hall. He is talented, but as Darren Woodson has pointed out, there are many flaws in his technique, and I see no signs that he is about to learn any technique. After all, Emmitt Thomas is his position coach, and Hall isn't getting any better.

Further, he lets his temper get the best of him and blowups on the field pretty much cost Atlanta a game.

This is a guy you would trade for?

Nnamdi Asomugha was drafted with the 31st pick of round 1, and has developed into one of the best cover corners in the league. I'm hoping we can pull off that kind of coup with one of our two low first rounders.

I wonder if there are any corners with that kind of size and speed in the draft this season. Al Davis went for the physical freak, and it payed off.

If the third CB was a player like Mike Haynes, sure. Do it twice, but not for Hall.

I don't want Hall, at all.

The guy from Oakland or Trufant would be nice but if they get franchised, as the guy who originally posted this thread thought, then you're not going to get either of them for a 1 and a 3. If they're franchised you're giving up 2 #1's to get them.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I like them but not enough to give up 2 #1's for them.

I agree. I would not deal with Hall. As for Asomugha or Trufant as long as they are not frachised I would at least make an offer to one of them
