I would love for Jerry to do this.

We get depth for 2010 and starters in 2011 by doing this.

Long-term ..it's great. Just doesn't do a lot to push us over the top for a 2011 Superbowl run.

We'd really appreciate this draft in 3 years when Colombo, Gurode, Kosier, and Adams are all no longer with the Cowboys.

I'd say there is no chance Pouncey lasts til bottom of 2.

Trade down to get him 33-45 ish.

Take RT and a OG 3-4.

That would be a great position to be in, because then we replace Kosier and Columbo in 2011 with Free replacing Flozell. Davis and Gurode have longer to play than Kosier, Columbo and Flo do. IMO.

I like it

would be similar to the Jets drafting D'Brickshaw Ferguson and that C with their 1st 2 picks a few years ago

mainstays on their line

Ya, that's what I'm thinking. Pretty sure they got Brick and Mangold in that 06 draft.

We would pretty much be done drafting O-lineman for a few years.

Even if we went O-line with 2 of our first 3 picks.

Depends. If Brewster is going to be a player, then no. If he is JAG then possibly yes.

Yes and hell Yes. We need three people who can come in and push 3 starters right away. This Oline has underachieved for too long. I don't know if Pouncy and Johnson will last that long though.

well, that would upgrade the o-line which I have to agree with. I'd like to grab a Mardy Gilyard to help with the return game and give another receiving threat or a Nate Allen to put a playmaker at safety with maybe one of those picks.

I would not mind it. It might not be flashy, it might not be a thrill position like many would like. But in the end it would be a prudent draft that should result in future starters in positions that need future starters.

It is like a workman or blue collar draft, nothing flashy about it but it would get the job done.

I wouldn't be terribly upset by it. I want a playmaking safety, for sure, but I wouldn't get greatly upset if we passed on that and really shored up our O-Line situations.

Dallas may get an Olinman high in the draft but I don't see us going 1, 2 and 3 OL.

Sure would! I'd love it. I'm not in the hurry to replace Flo that some are, he's still a good player. That said, I think Dallas needs to come out of this daft with an OT, OG, and C.
Right now I've got Dallas taking a raw OT like Selvish Capers/West Virginia or Jared Veldheer/Hillsdale. I just don't see a rookie coming in and unseating Adams or Free. Dallas has some teaching time.

I've got Dallas taking a versatile center pretty high. Pouncey/Florida or Walton/Baylor would be my choice.

Last I've got Dallas taking a versatile OG late that could also contribute at C like Thomas Austin/Clemson.

Rarely would those types of players be found in the draft, and even less likely in the spot we're picking.

Those types of players are going to be either on the roster already ( ie: prospects who make improvements over the off-season ) or 2nd tier FA we happen to hit on..
