He is in the mold of ss Jeff Heath and lb Anthony Hitchens, but not as talented.

It is complicated but it’s based on elected pro bowls which he doesn’t have and snap count which other than first year he’s been under 50% of snaps
Looks to me like he gets avg of 4th year salary avg for 3rd thru 25th of players at his position
Here’s what it says

Players who reach a certain threshold will earn a base salary which amounts to the fourth-season salary cap average of the salaries of the third through 25th highest-paid players at that position and can’t be selected to the first ballot of the Pro Bowl in any of his first three seasons. The position will be defined by whichever position he played the most during his third season. The threshold which activates this salary schedule are if the player did

Neither LB has played at a 10M a yr level. So it would be pretty idiotic to pay him as such.

No reason to worrying about locking him up at the moment. The defense has been atrocious and he has a part in that.

Also, he's been injury prone. As good as he can be, he's not always available which does us no good.
