Would you pick up Matt Bryant for short yardage?

Called this thread the minute Bryant's release came up.

Over-the-hill familiar name gets cut after making 64% of his kicks - "let's bring him in for a look!"

Well he is 7/8 under 50 ;)

I don't think he has the size or strength for a short yardage back.

17 kickers have missed extra points this season. Maher isn't one of them.

Maher has missed 2 field goals under 50 yards. Others?

Zeuerlein - 4
Gould - 4
Santos - 3
Gonzalez - 3
Nugent - 3 (and a missed XP), cut today by New England
Lutz - 2
Bailey - 2 (and a missed XP)
Vinatieri - 2 (and 4 missed XPs)
Gostkowski managed to miss 4 XPs before going on IR

Unfortunately, there's only one Justin Tucker and he's not available. But even he doesn't have 2 makes from 60+, like Maher.

Maher isn't a hall of famer but the hand-wringing over him is overblown when you actually look at what other kickers are doing.

Cant' afford to us two roster spots on two kickers.........shouldn't even have to. Tell Maher to get his crap together.

That would pretty much force Bryant having to be perfect in order for it it be worth it.

Just imagine if he misses one quick.

So my answer would be, no. Absolutely not.

It would be a terrible idea.

If you're relying on your kicker to win a game, you probably not worth going deep.
