Which would you prefer: To go 10-6, but have all six defeats come at the hands of the Giants, Eagles or Commanders,

or

Go 8-8, but have a clean 6-0 sweep of the Giants, Eagles and Commanders?


And would you stick by your choice for, say, ten years in a row? (Have the Cowboys go 10-6 for ten years in a row, but be 0-60 against the Giants/Eagles Commanders?) (or go 8-8 for ten years in a row, but be 60-0 against the Giants/Eagles/Commanders?)




I would prefer 10-6, because a 10-6 team is much more likely to qualify for the playoffs, by win-loss record, than an 8-8 team. An 8-8 team would still possess all of the head-to-head tiebreakers against WAS, PHI and NYG, but you'd still be just 8-8.

Which ever one gets the Boys' in the playoffs. There's so many other factors involved as well though.

Is this a trick question.? Why would anyone ever want a worse record just for having the bragging rights over div. opponents? Maybe, if you wanted to have better draft picks? Not me.

8-8 won't get you in the playoffs most years. 10-6 usually will. Forget bragging rights. Making the playoffs every year is the goal. Winning the NFCE is a bonus.

I'll take the 10-6 and the chance to be in the playoffs each season which gives you a shot at winning championships. That's better than just getting wins over division rivals and going 8-8 every single year.
