I want a complimentary minded football coach. That understands it is a team sport and one side of the field does not have to overcome the other side of the field.

He'll be stuck with Dak for at least a couple of years. Since Dak can't win consistently in big games, the HC will have to have a shutdown defense a la Doomsday (I or II) so that Dak only has to be a bus driver qb.

This coming from a fan who doesn't think Dak is horrible, just not top notch....

A legit running game helps both Dak and the defense.

If you are going to invest $60M in a QB in his 30's, you better be able to protect him.

I think the OP is asking the question assuming that the owner sets the culture here.....he should have probably phrased it; "When Jerry waits till all the top and higher salary coaches are already hired, would you like a crappy offensive or defensive puppet coach?"

If we are to do anything in the playoffs with Dak, we need to build a great defense and have a solid running game. Dak isn't an elite QB, but he is good enough to win with if we have a top dense and running game. You'll have a better chance at building a top defense than getting a QB like Mahomes.

Thats right, spot on.Build a running game and play good defense ,that is the winning formula .
