Would you rather have Elliott, or Aaron Jones GB rb?

Mr. Jones is a billionaire, surrounded by other billionaires, with millionaires doing his bidding. They are well aware on how to handle financial affairs. That Zeke contract may be foolish to many, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to overall monies involved.
Wrong again, Zeke's contract involves a finite chest of money limited by a salary cap. Mr. Jones doesn't pay Zeke out of his own pocket. If he did you'd have a point.

If you don't see why I don't know how to fix your vision. Before he was doing more for less, now he is doing less for more. It's not rocket science.

That is your opinion. So in your assessment, each player should be paid only for current output.

Player contribution / contract amount = value
You missed an entire side of the equation, but now you know.

All advanced analytics say Jones has contributed more to wins than Zeke this year, but let's just say they were equal to simplify the point.

If they were equally contributing to wins, while Jones costing 1/16th as much that presents 16x more value.

Your point was incredibly wrong. Unless you think Watkins is more valuable than Zeke vause he signed for $17M

As I said dont skip school kiddos. .
If having Aaron Jones and not Zeke meant we would use a 2-back system like the Packers.. then yes, I believe there is more value there, and we distribute that money elsewhere.

What else does each of us have to offer but our own opinions? I think each player's pay should be based on what they are reasonably expected to contribute in the future.

But that cap, within its finiteness, is often open to change. Each year the cap is manipulated to accommodate; by renegotiations, trades, and cuts.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but how is future contribution assessed, without past knowledge of worth?

I agree with this too. We have a few of those "wow that was a dumb decision" the Cowboys take part in and when they happen they are blatantly obvious that those decisions won't produce value.

Extending Zeke early after his holdout, while setting benchmarks at nearly every contract detail was one of those moments. Nolan Carrol signing, and Trysten Hill selection being a couple others. After deciding to not resign Murray, I thought we had learned. I was wrong.

But by conceding the salary cap is finite, inherently you are admitting there is a point of no return. My point is Zeke's contract crosses that threshold.

The only place you and I disagree, is the contracts worth. I believe each player should maximize as much as possible, while they can. If he is overvalued, at this point, he still has time to fulfill the contract. If not, I am sure Jerry knows what to do. I will give both parties the benefit of the doubt, until proven wrong.

There is nothing wrong with considering past performce when evaluating future expectations but there are more factors to consider than just that. You have to consider wear and tear on the player, how much will he be relied on in the future scheme, market trends, and much more.

I am in agreement, and Zeke was drafted for this teams purpose, and outside of a few off field issues, has performed beyond expectations. I have no idea about the teams future, but at this time, Zeke is an integral part of their plans.

I believe each player should maximize as much as possible as well. My point is the contract Zeke got should not have been possible. I'm blaming Jerry for giving it to Zeke, not blaming Zeke for asking for it. The question whether Zeke can ever play up to that contract shouldn't even be debateable, he can't. It's not even fair to him expect him to. It's that underwater with the money he is receiving compared to other RBs in the league.

Gurley and Bell must be straight trash.

Zeke really didn't break the bank. I remember thinking of the average being 13-14 mil/season, and thinking it was somewhat reasonable. He's getting around the same as Bell/Gurley, and those other RB's like Barkley or McCaffrey will soon be getting around the same or more.

Jones has only two 100 yard rushing games this season. His best rushing performance the last three games was only 67 yards. He had two straight games this season where he averaged less than 2 yards a carry. Anyone who would take him over Zeke is crazy. Just another dumb thread.
Jones averaged over 5 YPC his first two years. In very limited carries. As soon as they started giving him more touches, his YPC dropped drastically. He's at 4.1 YPC currently for this season. Fans are grossly overrating him at present.

Funny how people have already forgotten our own Felix Jones. Averaged 8.9 YPC his rook season!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Followed it up w/ a 5.9. Sooooooooooooooooooooo, we started giving him more carries. 3rd year his average dropped to 4.3, and he never broke 5 again.

Think, people, this sorta thing happens all the time, especially w/ smaller speed backs. Teams scheme them into the open field as a 3rd down scatback type. As soon as they start having to run the ball up the middle and offtackle along w/ their outside runs, their average drops drastically. Which is what's happening w/ Mr. Jones as we speak. History, fellers, those who don't learn......

Was never an issue of breaking the bank. It's an issue of contribution to the team versus price tag compare to how other RBs contribute to their team versus price tag. Zeke is no longer the driving force on this offense but his price tag would suggest otherwise.
