Would you sign Henry Ruggs?

If he is in shape and ready to go I wouldn't hesitate to at least talk with the guy. He made a horrific mistake, no question about it, but its also a mistake that many have made only they didn't suffer the worst case result like Ruggs did.

Zero issue with a team giving him a 2nd chance, and as long as he is remorseful and fully understands the depth of his actions he is a guy you probably want to give a platform too. Hes a guy that if he rebounds would be excellent to have speak to NFL rookies each year about his experience to help prevent this from happening again.

I think he will be a free agent
Yeah almost positive the Raiders released him.

People deserve second chances but I never though the was all that good. I was shocked that he was taken ahead of Jeudy, Lamb and Jefferson in that draft but was in line with a typical Mayock/Gruden era pick.

This didn't hurt .....lol

Ruggs ran a 4.27-second 40-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Combine that was the year's fastest time by any prospect by .08 seconds, and it tied for the fourth-fastest ever at the event since electronic timing began in 1999.[5][18] Ruggs' vertical jump was measured 42 inches, tied for second-best among wide receivers at the 2020 combine

Sure, let's resign Pickens while we are at it. Anybody with the tag of "eligible" for parole, does not ift into our new culture. Was he even that good? Has Roger taken his bite out of him yet? how many second change guys can we go through? Let somebody else turn his life around

Not only is it extremely unlikely that he would repeat the same offense, he may never touch alcohol again at all.

I hope the Raiders have a team of employees in place that no other team does to advise very young adults that just ran into a bunch of money and living in Vegas.

As I said above, I just don’t think he was a great player, but had elite speed. If he still has it you’d figure on him being at least a KR in the league.

If he gets a decent contract I hope he takes care of the victims family….if he isn’t ordered to.

Ruggs, Kelvin Joseph, Josh Brent...I think we should stay away personally right now...

I wont fault anyone for saying stay away from the guy, I completely get it. That said however I can pretty much guarantee that Ruggs isnt a player you'll have to worry about helping him turn is life around. At this point either its happened or it hasn't, and you'll probably know within 20 minutes of meeting with him which one that is. I would bet pretty good money that Ruggs has been pretty humbled by this experience.

We'll have to see where Ruggs is at in August of 2026, parole isn't guaranteed. Also, hopefully he stays safe and healthy.

Cowboys should definitely look into adding Ruggs if everything checks out.
