It would be an ok performance from Orton. I just don't think that's going to be enough to beat the Eagles with our defense.

I think Orton can throw for 300 yards. Dont care if he throws any TD if Murray is running it in.

We need 300 yards from Orton and over 100 from Murray

If I were to tell you that you can have these final stats for Kyle Orton on Sunday night, would you sign up right now?

15 of 26. 190 yards. 2 TD. 1 INT. Sacked 2x.

That's not gonna get it done.

Exactly.

With Romo it was going to be competitive or better.

Now ?

No so much.

Without Romo, I fully expect a double digit loss..............Garrett will then claim he could have won the game with Romo............Jerry is dumb enough to fall for it...........Garrett gets another year by milking Romo's injury..........and we are 8-8 once again.

If it comes with a W for the Cowboys then I absolutely would take it.

Yes, I would take that stat line for a QB that has not taken a live snap in over 2 years.......................however that is not going to be enough to beat the Eagles.
Why not?, everyone keeps forgetting that the Eagles lost to the Vikings just two weeks ago, they needed two very bad calls in the 4th quarter to beat the Cardinals and a freak blizzard with Reggie Bush getting hurt in pre game warmups to beat Detroit, this isn't the Seahawks we are facing Sunday night!

Come on and play along bro. I am trying to get a handle on peoples' expectations for Orton. And your answer is important as I always read your posts and feel you have a very good handle on things.

I appreciate the kind words. Means a lot coming from you. I don't really have a solid answer. I don't think we could expect any more from him, so I'll say yes, I would be happy with that. At the same time, I don't think that'll be enough to win, because we'll most likely need more points, so we'll need roughly that same point production from the running game, unless of course Bailey kicks, like, 5 FG's.

I wouldn't sign up for that especially with a turnover. Orton is going to have to be more efficient than that and play mistake free football or the Cowboys have little chance of winning. Even with a solid performance by Murray Orton is going to have to have one of the most productive games of his career because the Cowboys defense isn't going to be able to come close to duplicating the performance they had vs Philly back in Oct.

This is the same sort of scene we went thru with Aikman at the end.

He was taking a beating and dealing with poor coaching with Gailey and his staff.

No defense and a broken down OL.

The problem with Romo is the same thing. It's too little too late.

He,s had no protection for so long and taken so many hits from bad OL play..

..he's finally unable to outlast it all.

This whole problem has been the failure of the team to give him an OL like a Brady or a Bres.

It's not going to matter what Orton's numbers are if the Cowboys defense doesn't step up and play their best game of the season. Look at some of the performances Romo has had this season and still lost because the defense couldn't make a stop. Orton could put up 350 yards and 3 TD's on Sunday and it's not going to be enough if the defense gives up over 500 yards and 5 TD's. This game will come down to the Cowboys defense if they can't get Philly's offense off the field it's going to be a long night.

Looking at it objectively I think that would be a good line for a rusty qb..anything above that would be a bonus .... I think we could need a bonus for the win.

I am going to say yes.

26 pass attempts sounds like things are going well enough in the game that the ball isn't having to be tossed all over the field.

Show me the third-down-conversion percentage and I'll tell you whether I'll take it.

Throwing it up to Dez in one on one coverage should automatically give you about 200 yards right there. Just playing.
