Would you take a SB win if it meant a career ending injury?

I'll give you a different scenario. Forget the career ending aspect of it.

How many of you would take a Super Bowl win with your favorite player TEMPORARILY injured and having to watch it on the sidelines FROM BEGINNING TO END (meaning they get no credit for that particular win).

I think there are guys on the forum who love Romo to the point that they just couldn't stand that scenario. And I'll be honest, I was such an Aikman fan that would have been hard for me to handle in the 90's. Good news for all those guys, though..... ain't no way we are winning a Super Bowl without Tony. ZERO chance.

Forget the SuperBowl, we are not winning a dam game without Romo.......................not even against the worst team in the league.

Football's a game. It's a fun game to watch, but I'm not so invested that I'd willingly trade an extremely dangerous injury to another person for a trophy.

/thread.

Seriously........its bad karma even talking about this type of stuff. Kinda like when all the Eagle fans were popping champaign and celebrating that Romo got hurt, thinking it would hand the division to them. Go check out their message boards and see what some of their fans were saying, it was down right disgusting. Very next game, Foles goes down with a broken collarbone...................don't see them laughing about QBs getting hurt anymore.

Karma is a b#$%h;)

Dez is my favorite player. Hey, if it was an injury, where the Doc said he would be fine, but just can't play football anymore(After he helped us get our ring). Then yes, and I would be happy.

I can't wish injury on a Commander, so no, I wouldn't want a cowboy injured for any reason, including that it would make me feel better for the team to win a SB

Have you consulted the player?

This OP isn't the most tempting of choices. Here's an even better idea -- how's about opting for a SB win with everyone finishing just fine? Now, THERE'S something more worthwhile to wish for. Why taint it with tragedy?

I'd rather us just win it the 'right' way, you know without all that injury nonsense. And if it happens that we don't win another one anytime soon, then so be it, because after all, it's just a game.

If I was Romo... heck yea I would. As a few others have said, this might be Romo's best shot at the Super Bowl he is ever likely to get. While I believe the Cowboys will be even better next year (everyone and their mom said this would be a rebuilding year and I think guys like McClain, DLaw, Melton, and Hitchens will be better next year; two of which we don't need to worry about resigning) I honestly feel he could have a pretty good shot this year, especially with how good they have been when he is under center and looking like himself. The two things he has left to do in his career (as let's face is, he will never win MVP) is win the Super Bowl, and use that win to get him a spot in Canton (he already has the stats, just needs the ring). If I could do both this year... but have to risk not playing another year... yea... I would do that if I were him
