Would you trade for Paxton Lynch?

He is a system QB. Foles is putting up get similar stats.
You're comparing 11 games to under a half dozen? Seems realistic. Wentz was on pace for 4,000 yards, hardly a "system" QB. Not to mention a great TD to INT ratio. Outstanding QB rating as well. Interestingly enough their staff will replace Foles with Wentz when he returns. If Foles was a better QB he wouldn't have been a back up.

And they were stupid. Never understood it.

Yep. Nothing new though. This fan base has always been enamored with the backup over the starter. There were those that clamoring for Jerry Rhome and Craig Morton over Dandy Don. Those that wanted to stay with Morton vs. Staubach and those that were on the opposite side. Hell, even Tom Landry couldn't decide so he came up with one of the most ridiculous ideas - alternating QBs, ultimately on each play.

It is like the Montreal Canadiens where often the backup goalie is the most popular player on the team. The backup in Dallas is always popular.

For a 6th?

Yes.

I don't think we would have much to lose.

I think the potential is huge for him, but he didn't fit Kubiak's scheme and the entire Broncos team was a dumpster fire last year. He supposedly looked good to start the preseason and then tailed off a bit and Simien won the QB battle and then he was set to start for a bad team and got injured.

There were some issues, allegedly, with his work ethic. But, if you have a former first rounder that is getting traded away for a 6th round pick...that may motivate him to work harder because they know they are on their last legs in the league.

If Cooper Rush can't outplay him...then Cooper Rush doesn't belong in the NFL. The same if Lynch cannot outplay Rush. In the end, we may get a very good backup QB. I would still have confidence in Dak, but I don't believe that having 2 good QB's is ever a bad thing.

if he needs his work ethic improved by extra motivation then I DO NOT WANT HIM. Because that 'extra' will run out

We need a veteran, not another clueless kid. I'd rather bring back Sanchez than bring in someone who's even worse and lacks experience.

That's not always true. And a lot of that stuff is, at times, behind the scenes political stuff that's really nonsense with somebody trying to use it to their benefit.

But, if he does have some work ethic issues...or any off the field issues...the best tact is to take a guy where the organization has little to lose if he doesn't work out and everything to gain if he does work out.

This is what the Patriots do very well. Sure, they have great coaching, but they still don't take these troubled players or questionable work ethic players early in the draft or pay a king's ransom. Instead, they wait until nobody else wants the player and the player knows he's on his last legs in the NFL

For a 6th rounder...that's easily worth the price because it's so minimal.

If he Lynch could play Denver wouldn’t let him go. I don’t care about measurable’s and potential. NFL games aren’t won on potential and measurable’s. Dak surley isn’t perfect, but has shown he can play when he has the right cast around him.

The word on Paxton Lynch that I've read thus far has been that he's failing in Denver due to his perceived mental limitations.

Perhaps he's a late bloomer but I'd pass on any consideration of making a deal for him. Dak's been better, plain and simple.

If Dak stinks up the joint next year which is highly likely, he won't be firmly planted at starting anything but a backup on some other team. Dak is not an NFL QB because he can't read defenses and he can't throw worth a flip. Without Zeke, he's toast.
you say it highly likely for him to stink it. couldn't we just say its highly likely he will be good as 2016. there is more facts supporting that dak will be better, than otherwise.

and you sound like one of those garrett haters. now you found some one new to b!tch about....

and if you say dak is bad...what's your alternative

Sorry but, 2016 was a year in which defensive coordinators hadn't seem Dak and what he could do.
They have lots of tape now on Dak and know his tendencies. They have learned how to defense him
and know that he gets rattled when rushed hard. He could probably do somewhat better with a different
compliment of WR's which are smaller, faster & quicker great route runners. We don't have but one of those
right now and they are double teaming him. If the team doesn't let our slow receivers go we are doomed to another
bad year. By the way, I agree with you that Garrett is a joke of a HC.

I would rather they take a flier on Manziel. But I'd be cool with Lynch. They liked him (I didn't) and you have to start somewhere.

You forgot the"H" in your user name little lady.

You show me where I wrote that I was 100%. Do it. I dare you. I'll eat it. Put mustard on it and eat the frickin thing.

Another roach slithers in..............

Well, at least you think your clever ....

As for your 100% claim, what you said was that you weren't making assumptions because you have eyes, and your eyes don't lie - what is that if not a claim that you cannot be wrong?

I can't see that at all. He has done nothing during his time in Denver that makes me believe he is a pro QB. Pick him up if he is cut just to kick the tires and hope you get a pleasant surprise, ok. Trade for, no thanks.

This runs parallel to a thread that i have been wanting to start "Cooper Rush - what do we have?"

I, for one, think Cooper has shown a lot of potential. Something about him makes me think he has the intangibles a QB needs. Before anyone takes this outta context, I'm not anointing him anything at this point. Simply saying that he may very well be able to push Dak which could be good for everyone and might turn out to better than some folks seem to think.

He's got a lot higher ceiling than Dak does, that'd be great.

Tell me what you have seen from him that tells you this. Anytime he has been on the field, he has been garbage. There's a reason he can't even beat out some spare named Simien. He isn't good. Dak is light years ahead of him.

But let me let you get back to the agenda this board has against Dak. Sorry.

HUGE difference between me supposedly 'claiming' 100 % and being presumably wrong, which is not even close to what I said. Sorry, I don't have a dumb down key on my board.

All I said was in watching both QB's Rush is better. It's called an opinion.

Again, minus your spin, show me where I said 100% Do it.

Someone must've turned on the lights......they're scurrying everywhere. RAID!!

No.

The most concerning thing I heard about Lynch prior to the draft was, frankly, that he was dumb as dirt. Couldn't learn concepts on offense. Just winged it around in college, which works if you have the physical tools at that level.

So far. that seems to be bearing out in Denver, too.

The NFL is not a friendly place for stupid quarterbacks.
