I had read in the Walter football draft rumors that the Eagles were looking to trade Fletcher Cox for a chance to get Marcus Mariota. Let's say they give us Cox and a 4th, we give the 27th. Would you do it??

Here is the link to the rumor

Yes

It was cool that we traded our 1st and 2nd rounders to get Claiborne instead of our 1st and 4th to get Fletcher Cox
Awesome:mad:

Sorry, that Claiborne trade haunts me every year about this time. Maybe if he has a breakout season or is traded or cut I'll finally get past it.

I'm not sure Dallas would.

Really? If there's anything to this at all, it's to get PHI to the top of the draft. Cox is an absolute beast. Well worth more than a late first pick. New contract coming soon or not.

I was still hoping for Fletcher Cox when they traded up to 6, even if I thought it was a bit high for him. So yeah, I'm giving them #27 immediately. I'd be terrific value.

Lmao

Cox is probably the best player on the Eagles defense...

Shoot, he might be the most valuable asset on their entire team

It is just a hunch. Of course, it is pure speculation on all of our parts, so there is almost no chance of either side being proven correct in this debate. Safe money would be that Dallas would give up the 27th for Cox, so I would say you would be closer to being correct than me.

Still, I just don't know how much Dallas wants to put elite resources into the DT position, so it makes me wonder if Dallas really would do it.

Of course we would/should do that. No way the eagles do that though. I think Kendricks is the guy they would trade if they do move someone. His rookie contract is almost up and they traded for Kiko and extended Ryans.

In a NY minute!

Better than a Mike Jenkins starter kit at 27. The dude almost wrecked our whole line in that first game!

Hard to say.
I would love to have Cox on this defense.
I however do not want to strengthen the eagles draft with an extra 1st.

I don't see how trading Cox for our 27th pick would help Philly get Mariotta. I would think they would need to package him to go up to 2 or 3.

And another thing.
The eagles may not want to include us in a trade for Cox. They know what they will be facing twice a year.

He is in the last year of his rookie deal at 1.75m, PHI hasn't picked up his fifth year option yet for 8m.

If they do, he could then be franchised for 1 or 2 years. So it would be like a 3yr/22m or a 4/37m deal with nothing guaranteed.

That would be worth the 27th in my opinion for a player like Cox.
