For what? A complimentary 7th Rounder?

His stock is bottom low. Small School guys may take 2 or 3 years to make an impact. You wait out if hes going to develop into what they were expecting.

I’m still on the Tolbert train but I’d love to know how the hell Dennis Houston jumped him on the depth chase week one……

What’s that saying to every draftee? It’s not like he’s had a bad attitude. He’s a Cowboy and we should back him in until we can’t.

Hmmm… you spent a whole season developing a guy that you knew from the beginning was going to need a season of developing and are now going to trade him because you have a bunch of guys who are going to need a season of developing! Why not after spending a season teaching him how to run pro style routes take advantage of the 6’2 frame and 4.48 speed?
Churn and burn..

Cannot trade away questionable decisions. Better to give him this season and this team needs WR's that have been on the team. Might be a new OC but a lot of those patterns are staying.

It is very questionable at this point just how much the team has upgraded the receiving corps, including the TE's and RB's.

I mean people would want him just for nothing. If my team had a round 2 or 3 grade on him last season? I’d trade for him but yeah it’s not worth it.
I imagine it would have to be a team that missed out on getting a wide receiver anywhere in the draft and still desperately need one. It would be better if he had a good camp. Maybe a good preseason game or two and get some tape out there that shows he doesn't completely suck

I liked the player going into last year. And I still like the player. However, there's a lot of WR competition here, and I don't want to get caught up in the sunken cost fallacy. I get you drafted him for what he could be, but if you have better players right now. Especially if you have better players who are ready to play right now, and you need to trim the roster to 53, would you be willing to pull off a trade before it became apparent he was going to be cut anyway?

I kinda feel like a good place for Tolbert would be the Raiders.
You couldn’t get a 7th for him. He has an ink value right now.

People just like to post for the sake of posting. What possibly would anyone pay for Tolbert at this point? A can of corn? Many WR's take a year to get accustomed to the NFL, and Dallas did a complete disservice to the guy last year. They were putting him in every position instead of letting him master one.

Yes. I would trade him to Houston for one of their first round picks next year

We lucked out with Ceedee and Gallup in that they showed something immediately the first year. That's not always the case. Sometimes guys need developing. There's no reason to trade Tolbert. Let's see if he developed.

Yeah I agree. I'm holding on to him though I think he has some fight and I think he's gonna bounce back.

We did. We probably take that for granted since so many guys have shown something lately....

No.

The value of what he might be able to become is worth far more than anything you would get in a trade.

no. Kid had like what 12 yards last season? best to keep him another year and hope he starts to become the player we saw dominate in college.

Lol, you don’t churn 3rd round picks their second season after spending a season developing them when you knew they were going to need the development when you picked them. You take advantage of the work both parties have done!

The magic trade machine that lives in this board is something else.
Boyhowdy, you ainta lying.

I once saw someone suggest and then argue that we should trade Bobby Carpenter, Sam Hurd, and Cory Proctor for Andre Johnson. They were sure Houston would accept the deal since it was 3 players for 1.
