Would you want Randy Moss on this Team?

Yes/No?

"You know the Patriots don't really pay, so when I got my second contract from them that was a blessing in disguise. I understand the business. I don't think they're going to re-sign me back. I'm not mad. I'm not bitter. It's just the way things are in this NFL, so like I said after this year I'll be looking for a new team. I think so. . . .

"That's not a knock on them. That's just how they run their organization," Moss added. "That's how it is. Put it like this, I guess that before I came there the philosophy was believing in their system. I think that's where they really don't pay guys because they have so much faith in their system. I didn't mean it as a knock against the organization. They just don't pay. If as an individual I'm not really in their future plans I would like to go elsewhere."

I know that we will have alot of money tied up in WR's so most will say no because of that but if we for some reason don't bring back Williams next year would you want him?

wanted to throw it out there and hear what people had to say.

If yes, what would you be willing to give up?

Ah centerainly would, but if he were in his prime.

Even in his prime he had attitude problems but his good years have now outnumbered his troubled years. Still, he is seeing the snow on the roof, he be moving on soon to a lesser team and end up not as we expected.

If they didn't hhave to give Austin a new contract I could really see Jerry looking into it. That move would gererate the hype and column he loves so much.

That being said I don't see him leaving the Pats. i reckon Brady will want one more year with him.

no....hes about done. keep moving forward with the youth movement.
Moss is only as "done" as he wants to be.

That is the problem right there.

This is like discussing whether or not to tint the windows in your car when you have two flat tires.

We have bigger issues to address, .. namely the OLine.

Sure we can sign him at 34 years old for the 2011 season provided that...

A) He's willing to be no better than the #2 WR and possibly, by that point, the #3

B) He'll be willing to come for a very cheap contract. No sense in dishing out a whole bunch of money to a 34 year old WR. if we were going to do that we could have kept TO who keeps himself in even better shape than Randy.

at least if we had him, we couldn't lose to him anymore. We have never beaten a team that Randy Moss was playing for, including when he was with the Raiders.

I'd love to have Moss, but I think Roy goes for 900-1000 next year and Austin goes for 1300-1400...so that works just fine.

His knees are shot.

Not at all. Moss had the physical skills to be the greatest receiver in NFL history, but he didn't want it. He's a knucklehead who never rose to the occassion.

No way do I want him in our lockerroom now.

I have said that same thing for years. He didnt want it, I dont want him.

Sure. Improvement over RWII. He'd definitely clear passing routes for Witten.

Won't happen, tho. Too much of an admittance by Jerry that he royally screwed up once upon a time.

Moss is nothing more than a mercenary at this point. Hired hand for a season, maybe 2. He doesn't care what happens. His most emotional moment from last season was him getting his two cents in against the media after they badmouthed him a little bit.

He's bad news all around. He was minding his manners in New England because he thought he was going to secure that ring. Now, NE isn't the clear cut favorite and the turdish attitude is rearing up. If New England struggles, I'd bet almost anything he'll be the 1st person to say something completely ridiculous to the media.

I have said it many times. When you consider where the team was at that time passing on Moss was the best move.

Nah, we had our chance to get him and Michael Irvin on the same field and we passed on it then. Randy Moss in his prime and it wasn't a good enough deal for us then...

I don't see how it would be a good deal now with him at the end of the line. Wide Receiver certainly wasn't the piece that got us beat by 31 in our last game.

Randy Moss can still fly, when he wants to

From the Twitter feed of the New England Patriots comes a link to video from the Heath Evans charity softball game.

And it shows that the 33-year-old wideout can still move quickly.

When he wants to.

Here's the video, and here's the summary: Moss gets under a pitch, and pops the ball up. As the pitcher moves toward the first base line, Moss doesn't make a move for the bag, assuming the ball is going to be caught. Then, when the pitcher drops it, Moss explodes toward first base, easily beating the throw.

So, yeah, he still has it. Whether he chooses to use it on the football field this year remains to be seen.
