It isn't like we are talking about Pro Bowl players.

Reese let Arrington, Emmons, and Petitgout leave last year and everyone was up in arms about not having replacements. Well, he found replacements. This is no different. He let average to maybe a little above average talent leave. I have confidence he will find replacements yet again.

With all the bickering going on here how we salary cap-strapped, how we're AWEFULLY QUIET in FA, how this and that, etc...

Even despite busting their tails to get under the cap, the Skins still can barely only manage to resign their backup QB, and that is ALL.

The Giants let 3 of their key defensive players walk without a fight.

And last, but not least, the Eagles lost their minds and threw away $20m in guaranteed money to some overrated, albeit system corner.

It's bad for us? Really-it could be ALOT worse!:)

That system corner is now playing in the best defensive scheme that you can play for as a corner. The signing is huge for them, and is a real thorn for us. Dont be a homer.

Gotta side with Tom on this one. They didn't lose anyone that was irreplaceable.

The team that should be a little worried is New England. Wow! Samuel, Gay, Wilson, Seau, Stallworth, Gaffney, (possibly) Moss. It helps that they've got a cupcake schedule next season, but their defense was the weakness towards the end of the season. I don't see how they actually will improve by losing all of those players (especially on defense). They better re-sign Moss, because at this rate they will NEED to score 40 points a game.

ty law may have had 16 picks, but how well did he actually defend? i think there is more to be said about a corner than INTs. does anyone have any info on how many touchdowns he gave up before and after? or passes defended, etc.

That's why Sheppard is getting shopped right?

Oh yeah their defensive scheme was great... a league worst 19 turnovers...

The Giants have replacements in place for two of the starters who were let go. Michael Johnson will replace Wilson and showed a lot of promise. Gerris Wilkinson will replace Kawika Mitchell and filled in nicely when Mitchell was hurt for two games. The contract those two guys got were crazy and I'm glad the Giants didn't match. As far as Torbor, he was an adequate starter but definitely replaceable. The problem is, there is no one on the roster right now to replace him.

These were not devestating losses. I'm glad the Giants didn't pay $39 million for 6 years for Wilson. That is crazy.

It isn't like the Giants lost one of their DLinemen which is the only position (along with Pierce) where there are irreplaceable guys (although they still could if Strahan retires).

i think you forgot about mathias kiwanuka. he was starting over torbor and played well before he broke his leg.

And there is no way that I am believing that Samuel is a HUGE upgrade over Sheppard. Its a slight upgrade with a HUGE cost.

I'm wondering why the other corner opposite Samuels in NE wasn't dominant since they played in the same system.

I'm just saying, the guy is good.
