Hyperboles are used in casual speech as intensifiers ("weighs a ton"). Taking such a statement literally is not smart and is a borderline strawman.

If you didn't pick it as such you either a) have little or no knowledge of english, b) have had little or no social experience, or c) you have problems in general. When Wikipedia, the worst encyclopaedia in the world notes a hyperbole's use in general conversation as an intensifier, you know it's common knowledge for everyone over the age of 11 (are you going to take this literally also?) I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt by saying you are intentionally choosing to ignore the hyperbole.
