WP: NFL Owners Increasingly Favor Disciplinary Action Against Jones

Jerry may have overplayed it this time but i think he will win out long term because Goodell is just awful and others will realize it soon.

And with extending Goodell the nfl owners give all nfl fans around the country the middle finger and must find someone else to blame for the continued ratings and revenue declines.

You can only ignore the wishes of your entire fanbase so many times before they are no longer your fanbase.

Exactly! This is all being funneled from the league office. The more public backlash they can create the better they look.

Because Billionaires that tolerated Al Davis pulling his franchise around in multiple moves, and suing and beating the NFL owners in court wasn't punished..... but mean old "4.5 billion dollar-NFL leading franchise" Jerry is in real trouble, because Roger wants his 50 million/yr.

With declining TV ratings, kneelers and more labor contract trouble looming in 2020, the surprise! N.Y. Daily News and the Washington Post think its time to convince us all this week Jerry's in trouble and he better watch out,and turn into a good little soldier.I predict there will be a massive civil suit, coming from Zeke, aimed at clearing his name and carrying punitive damages, funded largely by Jerry, the week after the Super Bowl,February 15th,2018...and Goodell knows it.

Another trial ballon from a Roger acolyte aimed at intimidating JJ. I agree, JJ will ultimately lose and RG will get extended. But JJ is not in danger yet. He could step into trouble, but I would not worry, yet.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember reading a few weeks ago that you need a high percentage of owners to approve the compensation and Jerry already has enough owners on his side to vote nay?

Who knows...I don’t really care that much. 80 percent of fans and 80 percent of players want Goodell out but who cares what they think as long as Pepsi and Budweiser keeps paying big dollars for ad time?

Jerry may not be popular among other owners which is why he may need a court of law to get his way.

I'm so teetering on edge of walking away from the NFL. Tyrant league of corrupt billionaires with bizarre values--often no values.

I won't tune in except to watch some of Cowboys game tonight.
I'm actually thinking of boycotting the playoffs and the SB. I'm just about done with them.

These guys are right on the edge of the cliff.

There was an author on ESPN yesterday who said a group of owners wanted Paul Tagliabue back on an interim basis to mend the toxic relationship with fans and players and to start to build a bridge to the new CBA because if they strike for an extended period of time it will do to the NFL what missing the World Series did to baseball.

Meanwhile, Goodell pursues 50 million a year (on top of the 200 he has already received), a lifelong use of a private jet and healthcare for himself and his family.

Saying he's tone deaf is an insult to every person who actually is.
