Don't know about the chicks, but lots and lots of guys will be there...apickmans;1408191 said:Yeah we're making a quick stop or 2 there. We heard it wasnt gonna be as cool as previous years. No hot chicks either.

JLC and Howard Bryant (the other Commanders beat writer from the Post) don't like to do any favors for Snyder. Hence "direct fan access" via www.Commanders.com
If you can find article from last year Adam praising every single signing, please do so. The onus is on you
However to say JLC drinks the kool aid is pure bunk the way he whined and ripped the team all year long

"Randle El was one of the premier free agents on the market" (Er, OK, if you consider a marginal receiver and decent special-teamer/trick-play passer to be a "premier" free agent.)
"Randle El also is an elite return specialist" (He was OK as a punt returner, but the Steelers had quit using him as a kickoff returner. And "elite" usually is reserved for guys who have made the Pro Bowl -- preferably more than once.)

"Randle El would greatly enhance Washington's passing game" (He had 35 catches and one TD the previous season -- AS A STARTER.)
"The Commanders are accustomed to making a splash at the start of free agency and Snyder is also known for finding ways to keep players from leaving Washington without a contract, often by spending lavishly on their signing bonuses. Should the Commanders sign all four players ..." (He's referring to Andre Carter, Adam Archuleta, Antwaan Randle El and Todd Collins) ... "they will have addressed nearly all of their needs in one fell swoop, and could utilize the draft or lesser free agents to add depth"
"The Commanders have long sought a prolific pass rusher to aid their already stout defense, and Carter, the seventh overall pick by San Francisco in 2001, would fill that role." (Carter had 4.5 sacks the previous season and 2.0 the year before that, when he was hurt.)

La Canfora "believes that Andre Carter is going to be something special in this defense and he will put them over the top"

"Duckett, 25, is a 2002 first-round pick (18th overall) who utilizes a bruising running style with his 6-foot, 254-pound frame and could serve as a strong complement to Portis, a swifter and speedier back. He also would provide ample cover should Portis's left shoulder bother him throughout the season." (Early in his career, Duckett was thought of as a bruiser. But by the end of 2005, Duckett was well-known for being too much of a soft, tip-toe runner despite his size -- Falcons fans had nicknamed him "Tippy Toes." And even though Portis lasted only half the season, the only thing Duckett provided "ample cover" for was the bench. He rushed for 132 yards all season, with no more than 26 yards in any game.)

This article suggested the Skins would have no problems getting under the 2006 cap even if the CBA were not extended -- but his suggestions completely ignored the Rule of 51 and the 30 Percent Rule, which would have had a huge impact had the CBA not been extended.

"They'll definitely spend whatever they can to try to win, and that's always admirable." (What, throwing away money on overpaid busts whom they have to cut within a couple of years isn't a bad thing? No, it's admirable?)

"The CEO role looks good on Joe (Gibbs), though. He has more time to keep his finger on the pulse of anything Commanders' related - not just the X's and O's of the offense - and says he already has a better connection to what is going on in other aspects of play. If he wants to hop into a defensive meeting and check things out, he can. If he wants to mingle with players and gather information in the training room, he can. If he needs to intervene in a contract negotiation, handle NFL office issues or address concerns with the wretches of the media, there's finally time for that, too. I think it was a pretty gutsy and courageous thing for Gibbs to do ..." (We get it, Jason. You bow down at his feet and kiss the ground upon which he walks.)

Snyder is "driven to get that Super Bowl ring, and he's probably closer to it than he's ever been before." (The Skins promptly went 5-11, of course.)
That's a handful right there. I probably could find La Canfora praising the acquisitions of other players, if I wanted to spend a little more time on it, but I doubt anyone can find examples of La Canfora criticizing the Commanders' signing of ANY players in the past two offseasons -- although many others have done it quite extensively, and for good reason.
