Drew Rosenhaus said via youtube.com that he hopes to have an extension completed between Anquan Boldin and the Arizona Cardinals by the start of training camp.

Our View: This appears to be wishful thinking. Camp starts on July 23. There is no knowledge whether Boldin would hold out without a deal in place.

MY VIEW: It is going to be interesting to see how Drew Rosenhaus wants Anquan Boldin to play this. I do not understand why the Cards do not want to show Boldin the $$$

I am finally resolved to the fact that our WR's this year are already on the roster.

It is just too late to drag a WR in our system......should of been done before the mini-camps

What complete nonsense.

We trade for Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin two weeks before the season opener, they start. This is still July. Please people!

I agree. I think either of these two guys will assimilate rather quickly. They are pros and know the basics of the system. Only thing is how long it takes to get their timing down with Romo. But they will be full on ready within two weeks at most.

Ditto.

I think we've got to try to get our young WRs ready asap.

As much as I'd like to get Boldin/R Williams this season, I doubt it happens.

if either got here tomorrow they would be ready by season start it is mostly just wording. I have faith in what we got, but either of them would be a drastic upgrade:)

Keep in mind-Lito Sheppard dumped his agent and hired Rosenhaus this week.

This is just my perception, but it looks and sounds like to me DR is trying to pull off a trade b/w Philly and AZ.

I long ago accepted that our recievers for this year are already on the roster. Any moves made to improve the reciever situation will be done next offseason.

Absolutely.

If we signed Anquan Boldin mid season... the advantages would heavily outweigh the disadvantages.... so I concur.

ANYTIME you get a chance to better your team, you jump at the chance. He is a good receiver and I would love to see him with a Star on his helmet for sure. Anytime of year!

Maybe because they don't want $20M a season dedicated to two players that play the same position?

I can understand that. While it's nice to have it, it forces you to weaken other positions.

No way it's too late, if we can get Boldin we need to do it, dude is better than anything we have, including TO.

I wouldn't go that far.

I think Fans should understand that the only reciever we have any shot at getting is Roy from Det. And that is in 2009. We will be stuck with what we have now, unless an injury happens to T.O and forces us to make a desperation move like the skins did with Taylor.

I think the Taylor trade makes the case that it's not too late to get a deal done.

I'll be very interested to see what happens with Roy Williams and the Lions on the 24th and whether he shows up for training camp or not.

If he doesn't, I think the chances of a trade skyrocket.

And given the 'Super Bowl or Bust' mode this team is in, I would overpay to get him.

I think there are two potential injuries which could derail this team.

Obviously Romo, but the team appears to be taking steps to shore up the backup QB spot.

And Owens, where the team really has no viable candidates if anything happens to TO.

I would gladly offer next year's first rounder and the third and fourth rounders they acquired in trades.

If Miami, can trade away Taylor for picks next year, I think that opens it up for other teams to do the same.

Taylor case just proved my point

The Commanders bowed down and traded away picks for a player playing really for one year, because they suffered an injury.

And you think that a team like Det. is going to take a few picks to get a young pro-bowl caliber receiver?

You should remove yourself from WR discussion you're heart is blinding you to facts.

Really?

Thanks for the advice, but I choose to decline.

Detroit would be getting three picks for a player they may not be able (or inclined) to keep after this season.

I'll wait until Williams either reports, or doesn't report to Lions camp. Or until he gets the multi-year contract extension before closing the book on this one.

But your under the belief that the Lions will take those three picks. And just because you are willing to over-pay doesn't mean that the team will benefit from over paying. Jerry has over payed once for a WR, and he is not going to do it again.

I'm not sure if they would take those picks or not.

I'm also not sure if the Cowboys would be willing to offer them.

I'm only saying what I would do.

Which do you consider the deal? Overpaying or underpaying? First you said the Lions wouldn't accept it, so it's underpaying, then you say that it's overpaying for the Cowboys to do it?

Personally, I wouldn't consider that overpaying.

I don't think that those picks would do them considerably more good next year than getting Roy Williams would help them this year.
