I'm not sure if they would take those picks or not.

I'm also not sure if the Cowboys would be willing to offer them.

I'm only saying what I would do.

Which do you consider the deal? Overpaying or underpaying? First you said the Lions wouldn't accept it, so it's underpaying, then you say that it's overpaying for the Cowboys to do it?

Personally, I wouldn't consider that overpaying.

I don't think that those picks would do them considerably more good next year than getting Roy Williams would help them this year.

So we haven't learned anything about mortgaging our future for now?

You stand on one fence, i stand on the other.

I don't see the reason for over paying for a guy we can get via FA the following year, and not even have to waste a draft pick. It doesn't make sense to me. But please continue to over pay for players, by all mean do so.

No need to get yer panties in a bunch because our opinions differ.

My stance is that getting a guy like Williams now might mean the difference between winning it all and not.

That's worth at least a 1st rounder to me.

I don't wear panties, i wear man thongs.

I don't get them in a bunch because they have an anti bunch gadget in them

I think our team is good enough now to win it all, and that adding a Roy Williams next year can allow us to continue to win, and not fall back (I.E the Giants this year)

Good luck with those. It hurts me just thinkin' about it.

Fair enough.

My opinion is that an injury to Owens could derail this team's Super Bowl hopes.

And trading for a player of Roy Williams' talent could now and in the future.

If we get Roy Williams or Boldin, this offense would be freaking ridiculous. BTW, Roy is a perfect fit, because TO is old and Roy can carry the torch after the fact.

Keep in mind-Lito Sheppard dumped his agent and hired Rosenhaus this week.

This is just my perception, but it looks and sounds like to me DR is trying to pull off a trade b/w Philly and AZ.

Eeek! Much to my chagrin, I could actually see this happening. The Cardinals need a CB to pair with newly drafted DRC, and the Eagles need a legit #1 receiver. The move would upgrade both team units. I hope it doesn't happen though.

I think the Taylor trade makes the case that it's not too late to get a deal done.

I'll be very interested to see what happens with Roy Williams and the Lions on the 24th and whether he shows up for training camp or not.

If he doesn't, I think the chances of a trade skyrocket.

And given the 'Super Bowl or Bust' mode this team is in, I would overpay to get him.

I think there are two potential injuries which could derail this team.

Obviously Romo, but the team appears to be taking steps to shore up the backup QB spot.

And Owens, where the team really has no viable candidates if anything happens to TO.

I would gladly offer next year's first rounder and the third and fourth rounders they acquired in trades.

If Miami, can trade away Taylor for picks next year, I think that opens it up for other teams to do the same.

I would be for the move, but I don't think we would need to give up that much. If Williams doesn't report, then the Lions have a dilemma to keep a disgruntled WR on the roster that isn't participating with the team, or trade him while they still have a chance to get value. The cards would be in our hand then. I would offer a second and a fourth and then have the Lions take it or leave it. If they don't take it, we just sign him next year after his contract is up and the Lions get nothing.

Not me-if anything, the trio of Lito/Sheldon/Asante will give Jim Johnson the luxury of allowing Lito and Sheldon to play in the slot more, come up with more exotic blitz schemes, AND help cover up Asante's man-man weaknesses in this scheme.

You take out Lito in this equation, Samuel will subsequently be bearing more responsibilities than he can handle. Johnson may ultimately be forced to limit his blitz packages and play more zone b/c of this.

BTW-Boldin is injury prone, even more so than Lito.

That would be utterly horrific.

So a Pro Bowl WR can't learn some plays if he gets in at Training Camp. That's just a stupid comment. It certainly is not too late.
