And of those 5 drafts that means 20 WRs and 10 OTs. Of them 10 WR have busted and only 3 OT on average.

you still dont grasp the concept that just becuase teams do it doesnt make it a good idea. Matt Millen has done many things nad hes an NFL GM that doesnt make his decisions wise.

Weve been through this before summer.

I'm not saying it's a good idea, because a draft pick could go either way, and I know we've been through this before, but the idea that you should pass on a WR for another position, just because of the position he plays, is foolish, I just wanted to put some cold, hard facts on the table that your figures, and the idea that a WR is one of the riskiest positions in the draft, doesn't hold much weight since NFL teams w/ much more at stake, disregard the figures and don't take OTs instead of WRs because of that

As of now, no! Any other questions...before you eat more nachos?
So...until we signed Davis and Hamlin, they were not in the NFL? Weren't you using that in a derogatory way when this all started?

I'm out of nachos. :(

No I was not! Davis and Hamlin were looking to get "back in" the industry that they have trained for...now the Boyz picked them up, and waa-laa, they are now in the NFL industry...prior to that, they were "out" of the NFL industry.

Give me your address and I'll mail you some nachos!

and I'm pretty sure when you retire from the NFL, there is paperwork that has to be done, they don't just say, "well, see ya"

you notice he cannot answer the question which really makes the matter clear.

players without contracts retire from the NFL. you cannot reitre from something which you are not a part of.

Thanks, you made my point right here...

Retired, or released...until you have another "contract" to get back IN...you are OUT!

Get it Fuzz....IN, OUT, IN, OUT! You cannot be both!

they dont have to have a contract when they retire from the league.

youre making a point all right.....

players retire w/ contracts too, see Barry Sanders and more recently, Jake Plummer

this is a pretty wierd argument

I have no idea how that works, so it's over my head

I don't get it, don't they have a NFLPA?

they dont retire from the NFLPA, they retire from the NFL.

How does a player no longer under contract withdraw from a business he is no longer part of?

 What the hell kind of question is that?

Bryant did not retire...he was fired because he did not live up to his "contract"! He has no contract with the NFL, hence, hs is not IN the NFL industry...he might get back IN, or wish too, but as of now...nope!

no

I don't even know what the argument is about

im just going through the logical flow of argument brah.

how do those players without contracts retire from the NFL if they already are no longer in the NFL?

you dont fire peopel in the NFL. you never hear on sportscenter about how dexter coakley was fired.

and i can see you just cannot grasp what im getting at or are being intentionally obtuse.

if you can retre from something you have to be in it. players without contracts can retire therefore players without contracts are in the NFL.

In syllogism form

1) People that can retire from a profession are in said profession.
2) Players without contracts can retire
3) players without contracts are in said profession.

I know you are, I just don't know what argument it is, but once you enter the NFL, you are in the player's union, just like if it took Hamlin a while to get a contract w/ another team, he would still be in the NFLPA and in the league, although he's not under contract w/ anyone

if your argument is you don't have to be under contract to be considered in the NFL business, then you're right

to be in any industry, you have to be a part of that industry's union, or affiliated w/ it in some capacity

Bryant is a member of the Union that represents NFL players. The Union and the NFL are two seperate entities, right?

Bryant has no job...he is not in the NFL as of now.

they might be seperate entities, but they all follow the CBA and work simultaneously, the NFLPA is the NFL's union
