WR is an overrated need for this team.

CeeDee locked in as number 1.

Yes we don’t have a proven number 2, but we have 4 other guys making the roster: Tolbert, Turpin, Mingo, Flournoy. We technically used our 4th for Mingo who should be number two territory at this point in his career.

Now, one of these guys can develop into the number 2 (not Turpin who is a dangerous weapon). I can see Tolbert, Mingo and/or Flournoy taking a big leap this year. But we already have 5 guys at WR the team wants to give snaps to. The team def views WR as a high need per the 30 visits, but this doesn’t sit right with me given the above. Plus I left off Jalen Brooks bc he’s been atrocious IMO.

To me, CB is the most pressing need on this roster and leads me to question why Jahdae Barron isn’t a bigger rumor for us at 12 than someone like Golden. Barron would be able to own the slot and play outside if needed + adding another playmaker to our defense which was abysmal last season. How can we trust Bland/Diggs to be healthy? At this point it’s more likely one will be injured.

Trenches is always a need so there’s also that angle.

Finally, an elite TE like Warren might make even more sense than a WR in how it could help the run & pass O.

Am I tripping, or is WR an overrated need and we’d be just as good or better off going trenches, DB, or TE?

A legit 1 and 2 number 3's will be just fine. A legit running game, with play action, will open things up in the passing game.

A CB in round one means we can part ways or trade Diggs next year or even mid season. It also means Bland can not hold us hostage in trade negotiations Because that pick makes sense we will not draft a CB in the first few rounds.

WR is the biggest need on this team
We have a mega star WR + cast of guys with their own niches & potential growth.

Did teams like Bills, Chiefs, Commanders, Ravens, Chargers, Texans come into the playoffs with that much of a better WR unit than we have? They all had much better defenses than us.

I can’t see how WR is a bigger need than defense/trenches - can’t win when you’re giving up most points in the league right? We were at the bottom.

Plus a guy like Warren or bolstering the OL is bringing much more to this offense’s overall foundation than a guy like Golden IMO.

It's a bigger need for Jerry because he wants to our score other teams. He is not focused on stopping teams from scoring

Why isn’t Warren being talked about then? We’ve wanted to run double TE for decades and fits the mold of a guy to change the culture and Schottyball. TE is Dak friendly & gives us more looks in the run game. Penn State connection with Micah.

You're not wrong, but we are one Lamb injury away from having zero legit weapons on offense.

There is never a reason to talk about TE. Jerry always wants a TE.

These 5 guys scare no one.....in fact, they are probably their ceiling on most teams are 3rd-4th stringers.

It isn't over rated as a team strength and how it is used for 5 years in contract up front.

Its a need for sure. Is it the top need who knows. We have no one besides CeeDee that anyone gives a second thought about. Double team him and the passing game suffers greatly. PS. If we had a killer TE I'd feel different, but Jake has gotten worse.

I have no faith on any of the WRs outside of Lamb. I still kind of like Brooks, but unfortunately he's probably not a good enough pure athlete to ever do much. If you're going on hope, maybe Flournoy turns out okay but that's likely another year away if it ever happens.

I like Golden, but one thing I do kind of agree on is that with the way Jerry expects the big moneymakers to be targeted, I'm not sure a second WR is going to be worthy of a #12 overall pick, because they will keep force feeding the ball to CeeDee. I'd actually love Egbuka in that role but of course only after a trade down. A second rounder on, say, one of the Iowa State guys could work also.

WR's are like CB's these days. In so many formations you have 3 on the field.

If we go into the season with Lamb and any 2 of these guys as a 2nd and a 3rd option we will have the worst WR group in the division.

If we don't draft a day 1 starter then we need to have signed one. This weird idea of letting our group of backups develop isn't good enough. We have a group of guys who are not good enough to be the 3rd option on almost every contending team. I am not comfortable with my 2 and 3 not being good enough to even make the Eagles 53 man roster.

We made the mistake of thinking Tolbert would make the jump last season. It's not going to happen. Turpin has poor hands and is limited. Brooks is trash. Flournoy hasn't showed anything to make you think he is ready. Of course WR is a need. And if you don't get in the first 2 rounds, you aren't getting immediate help.

Most teams have two no 1 receivers in today’s game, it is easy to take away 1 receiving option.
