I will go out on a limb and predict he will break 9.6 and whatever his best world record is in the future no one will ever break it.

Guys like that usually can't catch.

Here is a clue, a guy like that can make more money or at least easy money than trying to make in NFL. Why would he risk his health, unless he really loves playing football?

This ain't 1960 or 70s anymore....

I was wrong - never thought a 6-5 guy could win a Gold at 100. He did but to coast at end of race is immature and not football like mentality.

He ran a 9.68WR? All records get broken...... And China has set these venues up for WR's - JMO

What does China know about football, much less wide receivers.

No, all world records do not get broken. He toyed with the field, all world class sprinters. I ran a lot of track in my day and I will guarantee you his final world record, probably 9.52, will never be broken and most likely no one else will ever break 9.65.

I was a nationally ranked high hurdler. Ran a 7.65 electronic 55M Indoors....

Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis were in 9.8 range 25 years ago. Bolt may break lower than 9.68 he ran - but someone always comes along and breaks record. Go to all time Track record book and show me longest standing record :)

One thing is true, this guy is a freak of nature, his top gear is just beyond anything ever seen.

But to just assume he can't catch is just a presumption, cause that is really unknown. Some guys just don't want to play football.....I mean, why get yourself killed on a daily basis if you don't have to, choose any sport except football unless you have no other choice, would be what I would tell my kid if I had one. Heck, my brother in law played in the NFL, and we are all making sure my nephew doesn't play football unless there is no other choice.

Money can be made elsewhere these days, and you don't have to injure yourself for the rest of your life to get it.

I would have to agree. I ran a lot of track in my day, and seen a lot. Never (Obviously) have I seen anyone with the burst that he has. He let up on the last 20 meters and still ran a 9.69. He was only at top speed for maybe 40 meters but that's all he needed. If he runs all out, he is in the 9.5 range easy....And that is absolutely unreal...freak scary...and what is most shocking, this is only his first year running the 100M...and he is only 21.

Bolt is going to be making enough money via endorsements, etc. plus from running on the circuit in Europe . . . . . unless someone is going to offer him a huge guaranteed contract (which they won't).

He'll be bringing down 7 figures a year just from endorsements, running, etc.

you don't need "routes" when you run a 3.9 40.
you run one route, one direction.

he came across like a jerk though. dancing before the race and showboating before the finish line. he's an immature idiot because he could have recorded a record time that might stand a very, very long time if he hadn't gotten cocky at the end.
