I just don't get it. Just googled Kerry Taylor and the dude has bounced around 7 different practice squads. It felt good to get Laron back but then he gets bumped for this guy? I'm no coach, scout or anything, but a player that was evaluated by 7 different teams (now 8) and waived each time being valued higher than Byrd doesn't seem logical. Obviously there is something the coaches and scouts know/see that we don't, but to me, this doesn't seem like the right move.

well byrd was on the street so any team could have signed him too. don't know anything about new guy and liked what i seen from byrd in pre season but kinda hard to judge the move since i know nothing at all about the new guy

Looks like they brought in Byrd, then Taylor became available and they grabbed him. Taylor was actually on the Jags roster for a few days before they released him, signed him to the practice squad, then waived him a couple of days ago. So, the decision may not reflect on Byrd at all; it may have just been bad timing for him when Taylor became available.

Byrd was injured according to Broaddus.

Byrd broke his arm in Wednesday's practice I read. I think he'll have a real shot at the 53 next year because I think Dwayne Harris will get a decent contract from some team.

It's hard to believe Byrd's replacement was announced before his broken arm.
