Am I alone here? While I was in favor of letting Cooper go, I was not in favor of paying 11M for a Tweener TE while Buffalo signed OJ Howard for 3M....letting our best route runner left on the team walk off to Miami for a salary that was very workable....resigning Noah Brown for a SIXTH season of sucking...but, but, but, he can block....sorry, I forgot. I'm guessing Turner didn't have the goods on Booger like Brown does. Wasting money on James Washington, when you could have signed Allen Robinson. Sorry, but Cee Dee is a #2 at best, and Gallup is a #2 on a great day....both CANNOT be depended on to show up every week...Schultz cannot be depended on to do anything but pick up 7-8 yards in soft zones, and provide Duk Pratfall some security when panicked. These receivers are going to really expose Duk, and make us long for the days of Tony...a 3-5 road record looks like a pipe dream....9-8 overall. The sad thing, is that it didn't have to be like this....Deez Nutz to both Booger and Chuckles....when is someone in the media going to seriously challenge them face to face about the last 26 years? What gutless media we have!!!
Cowboys fans . Shultz is better then Howard. You want the Cowboys to rely on I guy who is a first round bust for Tampa.:huh:Now CeeDee is a scrub in your opinion. 2,000 yards and over 150 catches in his first two seasons. We should have sent him packing with Cooper with your way of thinking. Let’s let the draft play out before we panic. La”el, Cooper and Gregory have won nothing for the Cowboys but cost our team money and headaches.

Gallup led all WRs for converting 1st downs and ypc average during 2019 & 2020, so he was definitely worth keeping, especially since resigning him was much cheaper than keeping Amari and his overpaid contract which he refused to take a paycut.

A one year salary
If you think receiver is a dumpster fire then you should be glad we kept Schultz for another year till you can put that fire out
I can’t imagine an offense with Lamb, Washington and turner at WR and McKeon and sprinkle at TE
Not many teams feared gallup in the 8 games he didn’t play
When they decided to move on from cooper it was imperative to keep Schultz for next year and he costs nothing beyond that
OJ Howard? He has less catches in the last 3 years combined than Schultz had last year alone

The overpriced signing of Schultz is one of the reasons our actions at receiver this offseason are a dumpster fire.

I'd take Cooper over Gallup and Schultz *combined*, and do it for less money than we're spending on both. And Gallup misses a bunch of games early on too.

Amari Cooper didn't want to take a paycut. He left the Cowboys no option but to try to trade him before cutting his overpaid contract and losing him with no compensation in return.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Amari for choosing money over the team.
I don’t blame a player for not wanting a pay cut
It’s very rare that any player actually takes a pay cut
Had they wanted to lower his cap they could have easily did it so not sure that was the issue
I think they soured on him just like the raiders did because they knew a pay cut was a non starter

I know many Cowboys fans outside of this website who do not think or agree with the many clueless who roam this fan website.

I get the feeling that you're not entirely optimistic about the 2022 season.

Haha....next thing you know, someone is gonna tell me that my Dodgers traded AJ Pollack for a washed up reliever....or that Herm Edwards is still coaching ASU.

It's not a disaster.

2018 was a disaster when they started the season with Hurns being their top WR.

With Lamb, it's already much better than 2018.

Schultz has nothing to do with why cooper is gone
None what so ever
They made the decision to part with cooper long before they tagged Schultz
I wouldn’t have signed Gallup to the deal they did either and I wouldn’t have traded cooper
But that has nothing to do with keeping Schultz
Once you decided to move on from cooper, which they did long ago, then that forced their had. You can’t lose your top WR and your TE

Amari refused a pay cut. He also would get lazy at times and disappear many times during big games, hence why the Cowboys realized they were overpaying Amari.

One game against the 49ers has made our fan base nuts. Dak is now the worst quarterback now. CeeDee is a bust. Gallup is over paid. The funniest posts I have read is that La”el is one of the best tackles in football and Cooper is better then CeeDee. I guess people have not watched the Cowboys the last two seasons.

I think the attitude part is the main thing and the same reason the raiders moved on from him
The pay cut thing they knew wasn’t happening
Very rarely do players take pay cuts and they knew that
When the season ended they knew right then cooper wasn’t coming back

Raiders were in a rebuild and traded Khalil Mack the same year. They were looking for multiple draft picks from both picks in the new Gruden era, which they ended up getting.

And I should have clarified further that while not a disaster I certainly don't feel as confident about WR this year as opposed to last year. You have Lamb. Good. You have Gallup coming off knee surgery. Ehhhh. You added Washington. He's a reclamation project.

That's it. Which is why I fear the Cowboys might use their first pick on a WR.

------Noah was a great deal for us. Core special teamer, competent NFL veteran WR, and can block, all for vet minimum.

:facepalm::facepalm: Name one big time game changing play he EVER made for us.....I'll hang out here all weekend waiting.
