i like ford at wr. i realize he isn't going to be a starter for us. but i think he could nevertheless be an impact player if he's allowed to stretch opposing defenses. he should be able to open things up underneath, plus he should be able to catch the long-ball once in a while.

finally, he could help on STs, which is a must.

i would ideally like to take him in the 4th, but i don't know if he'll even last to our 3rd round pick (at 90, if i remember correctly).

but a guy who could stretch the field, even if not a starter, could be an impact player for us this coming season.

edit: remember the impact d. branch had for the pats during their early super bowl runs? i still remember the catch (bomb) he made vs. the steelers in the afc chamionship game (played in pittsburgh). we need a guy like that to sprinkle into our offense every once in awhile.

I like jacoby ford too, plus these players, and the little wr from lsu

With our 6th or 7th rounder we take Kelton Tindal, Newberry-
271. Kelton Tindal
School: Newberry
Position: WR
Class: 2010 Big Board
Year: Senior
Hometown: Sumter, SC
Date of Birth: 10.07.87
Height: 6021
Weight: 189
40 T: 4.23
Projection: 6th Round

Are you looking for the fastest man at the NFL Scouting Combine? Tindal could be the one as he reportedly ran in the 4.2-4.3 range, with clocks as low as 4.22, as his junior pro day while measuring in at 6’2, 189 pounds. He caught 39 passes for 745 yards and 6 touchdowns while rushing for two touchdowns as well. He needs to bulk up and is considered a pure linear threat at this point but has potential. Keep tabs on this name. This is one of my pet cats.

Below is some of my pet cats and possible free agent type players to sign after the draft.

Kelvin Rodgers, Minnesota State Mankato- Rodgers will need to bulk up (6’0, 177) but has good speed (4.38-4.40) and has been very productive on two sides of the ball. He was named an All-American return specialist (2 KR TDs, 2 PR TDs) and very productive in the secondary with three picks and five breakups. His athletic ability also shows off the field as he won the NCC Indoor Track and Field Long Jump and placed 5th in the 60-meter dash.

Andre’ Roberts, The Citadel- Roberts is not only a star wideout but one of the best return men in college football. He finished with 24 punts returns for 461 yards and three scores, averaging 19.2 per turn while returning two kickoffs for 31 yards as a junior. He has the potential to score anytime he touches the ball and is one of the most dynamic return men in recent FCS history.

i like a roberts from the citadel as well. he had a very good week of senior bowl practices as well. i'm guessing he goes in the 2nd round or early 3rd round.

Dez Bryant is the closet thing I've seen to Michael Irvin I've seen. He's going Top 15 though.

Damian Williams, Jacoby Ford, and Taylor Price are all guys I would be thrilled with in the 2nd round.

Williams grew on me at SC. I was always more of a RoJo (Ronald Johnson) fan but the more I watched, the more I liked Williams. He has great hands, runs crisp routes, and is a solid punt returner. He reminds me of Reggie Wayne. Not as good, but just does everything well.

Ford's speed is a difference maker. Sending him deep keeps safeties at bay and Witten and Roy can work the middle of the field. He'll also make an impact as a kick returner.

Taylor Price offers good size and I had no idea he was as fast as he is.

Runs a lot like Owens, take a little time to get going but when he does no one can run with him. He was a walk on so is used to earning his spot, much like Austin. The one thing he has going for him early is he is a very effective and willing kick and punt coverage guy.

I really like ford as well, a really good deep threat. Carlton Mitchell and D. Thomas looks really good to. Taylor Price has good measurables but i didn't like him at the sr bowl.

I wouldnt mind getting Dez Bryant knowing him because he is from Lufkin and so am I. I think Dez could be the next player like a Michael Irvin. Doesnt have super speed like some elite wrs but neither did michael, but has a heart that wants to win, be the best and works hard, has huge hands too.

If we cant get him, i do think he will fall some in the draft due to his suspension but not drop any further than michael did at 18th slot in 1988. But if we cant get dez i would be happy with tindal or ford,

Yet, i think it was matt mosley that said he heard from the cowboys sources that the cowboys are interested in either a top safety or a top offensive linemen. Next thing to remember though is what jerry jones said about the draft, if an old war horse is at there the 27th slot when we pick, we might not pass him up. In other words someone like brandon spikes.

That's actually a great comparison. Reggie Wayne wasn't thought to be a burner, just a solid, all around receiver.

I posted mine before to a big yawn but I watched every game this guy played last year and think he will stick. All-time school receptions leader, 6'0, 185; will run a low 4.4 and can separate; polished routes, high football IQ, perfect hands, nose for the end zone and can return punts:

Marc Mariani WR Montana
2009: 80 rec 1479yds 98.6/gm 18.5/rec 13 TDs

CJ Spiller is faster on the field than Ford is. Now they are both very fast but not all of Ford's speed translates to the football field. If you think he's going to blaze by 4.4-4.5 CBs then you're wrong. They will have to honor Ford's speed just as they do Austin's. Ford isn't substantially faster than Newman who was a track star as well. There is just this perpetuated myth about Jacoby's speed. He's not Chris Johnson fast.

i agree alittle about ford, when he runs, its like he is hestating some on the field, like felix jones did at start of year and on kickoffs, you cant hestitate
