CJ Spiller is faster on the field than Ford is. Now they are both very fast but not all of Ford's speed translates to the football field. If you think he's going to blaze by 4.4-4.5 CBs then you're wrong. They will have to honor Ford's speed just as they do Austin's. Ford isn't substantially faster than Newman who was a track star as well. There is just this perpetuated myth about Jacoby's speed. He's not Chris Johnson fast.

trust me, if Ford wants to he will run past CBs with ease, especially ones with 4.4, 4.5 speed. I agree that hes not field fast, but when he wants to run, the kid can run VERY VERY fast. I think he's faster then Chris Johnson. What do you mean by Chris Johnson fast though.

To be fair

Ford has to run routes, that slows him down a bit on the field.

I posted mine before to a big yawn but I watched every game this guy played last year and think he will stick. All-time school receptions leader, 6'0, 185; will run a low 4.4 and can separate; polished routes, high football IQ, perfect hands, nose for the end zone and can return punts:

Marc Mariani WR Montana
2009: 80 rec 1479yds 98.6/gm 18.5/rec 13 TDs

How strong is that division he plays in?

Love Dez at 27 in round one but don't think he'll last that long. Like Damian Williams if he somehow fell to us in the second round, ditto for Gilyard in the third. My late round pet cat I really hope we get is Freddie Barnes, Bowling Green. He won't wow anyone with his measurables except his production on the field. I think he will be great in the slot.

Big Sky is not strong but Montana has played in the FCS Championship the last two seasons and Mariani has produced in the playoffs against better competition. He got snubbed for the combine, so he's a late rounder at best, definately a priority UDFA. I just like the production and makeup.

I don't like Crayton at PR and I generally scout a late round pet cat WR every year that I think could make the team as a PR and develop:

Demetrius Williams Oregon
Jovon Bouknight Wyoming
Johnnie Lee Higgins UTEP
Sammie Stroughter Oregon St.

My past pets haven't done much to distinguish themselves but we blew it on Stroughter. I think we've missed out on some gamers because of our historical 6'2 height requirement for WR on this team.

Ok, we'll see. And Chris Johnson runs a 4.2 which translates to the field. Ford runs a 4.2 which doesn't.
