They are talking right now about the WR's running incorrect routes or stopping their routes...

If I were the QB of this team and couldn't trust my WR's to run routes where they should, how successful would we be? Romo and others have talked about this being a timing offense....which I have my doubts about at times, but if these WR's aren't where they SHOULD be, just how much confidence CAN he have in them? Not much.

There was plenty of talk tonight about RW and TO not running their routes to completion causing incompletions or over-throws...

Once again, NOT on Romo.

IF TRUE, it seems that the problem is with the WR's not being prepared (running wrong routes), which I put on both the coaches and player....but more on the player as he is the one on the field....or running incomplete routes, then they need to be reamed for their route running and the GM (Jerry Jones) needs to be notified. HE is the one signing their paychecks....HE is the one that needs to start threatening them, etc., with their jobs.

I'd rather have a WR that runs his routes the way that he is supposed to run them and knows his role over a WR that doesn't.

For an offense that is as simple as ours is, why in the world do we have people not knowing where to line up, and receivers running the wrong routes?

idk wut the hell is wrong with this offense. seems like romo and the wrs' never sit down and chat during the freaken week. in games, they never talk to eachother when things arent going right...they all sit on their own island...

This WR corp is slightly overrated.
I think we do not know how to use them. We have no idea WHAT to do with RW, who is probably asking to go back to Detroit. We fail to get TO consistently in motion to the middle of the field or in the slot for slant and drag routes that get TO the ball, at speed, in space. Witten does what Witten does - get open in the seam, or in the spaces, or beats a LB on a post. Outside Arizona, I don't think you can find guys who can catch like TO, RW, and JW.

This has been a problem all year.........they have talked about it on Talking cowboys all year. Roy 11 has an excuse for not knowing the plays, but not TO. Crayton knows the plays but gets no separation. Tony spends too much time before every play lining up the receivers, tipping off the defense that a pass play is coming.

What incorrect/stopped routes?

If all of the receivers are doing this, that reflects poorly on the QB/offensive coordinator.

Well RW11 and TO are not known for route running so what do you expect? This is who we signed when we clearly knew thay had already had these problems for many years. It is also why I was less than enamoured about mortgaging our draft for RW11.

Bad routes reflect poorly on the QB?

yeah right, he's fostering this attitude by catering to their every whims

Goes back to coaching, leadership, preparation and focus. We have none of those things.....

Maybe it would help if TO wasn't the 1st, 2nd and 3rd option.

If there are alot of route problems, we should be asking - is the constant audible calling a problem at the line?

I'd so it goes back to the GM who brings in these types of players. There was already alot of game film on TO and RW11 before they got here. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

The problem I have with the routes is the ones that are being called. Why in the hell is TO always running stupid vertical routes? He runs more vertical routes than any WR I've ever seen.

He's a friggen drag, cross, and slant kind of guy and Garrett seems insistant on having him run 18-20 yard ins, Go's, and crap like that.

That said...he should have got that first long one thrown to him that he some how never even managed to locate the dang ball.

When every receiver is "running the wrong route," it suggests the quarterback has no communication skills and doesn't understand the offense himself.

Personally, I think it's just Garrett's "system." Garrett doesn't draw up anything, really; he just tells Romo to go out there and play street ball...and occasionally calls a designed trick play.

TO is definitely not a slant guy - his hands are not good enough.

At this point of his career his best routes are deep to take advantage of his great top speed when he has got his long legs going.

No, it goes to the WR's discipline in sticking with the play that is called.

Personally, I would have pulled the WR's aside and told them that if they do it again, I would sit them...no matter WHO it was.

Does Romo control where the legs of the WR's go?

This is just crazy.
