WR Seems to be the Likely/necessary choice at 12

This is 100% correct from what I have seen from the outside over the years.

Jerry has no clue how to build a winning team.

He does know how to market a team, and build the value of a team with FLASH.

WR is the flashy pick, so I suspect you are correct, and this is what Jerry will do.
I don’t understand this notion I’ve seen around that Jerry Jones is enamored with receiver and invests too much at that position. The Cowboys haven’t used a pick in the top 2 rounds at receiver since Lamb and that was five years ago.

The Cowboys need a complimentary piece at WR and not another future "star" that will demand top price.

When you draft a skill player in the 1st round it means that you either have to pay him to keep him after 4-5 years or you lose him. Although that may be true for a lineman, the impact of a new contract will be far less, on average.

The Cowboys are in desperate need of a high quality DT. This is the first line of defense against the run.

If I was running the Cowboys draft then I would wait to see if a top 6 player slipped to the 12th. If so, I would grab him despite any position he played. Other wise, I would trade down to the area where the next couple of DT's should be drafted.

In this way I could pick up extra 2nd day picks as well. I would use one of them to draft another DT.

The 2nd and 3rd rounds could be used for the skill players at WR and RB.
