For the record, of all the veteran WRs who there has been speculation about coming to Dallas, here they are in terms of who I would want most and how likely I think it is we could get them.

1. Steve Smith. Him opposite Owens would be sick. 5% chance. Carolina is good. They aren't going to trade unless unless the offer is unreal. That isn't likely.

2. Anquan Boldin. I wanted him in that Draft. I have always liked him. Once he has the ball he is hard to bring down. 10% chance. I just don't believe AZ will move him.

3. Roy Williams. My feelings about him are hardly a mystery. 80% chance. If Detroit loses next week after the bye this week, they need to look towards the future, that means stockpiling Draft picks.

4. Chad Johnson. I refuse to call him Ocho Cinco. I don't care if that is his legal name. 10% chance. Just like AZ, I don't think they will move him.

5. Torry Holt. I don't think we need a WR over 30 which is why he and Chad are at the bottom of the list. 50% chance if he is released. 5% chance we'd trade for him.

good list i think Roy too is the most likely and good morning hos:D

Can Dallas afford to pay Roy Williams and resign Demarcus Ware? I think Williams doesn't look as good as he can be because of the situation in Detroit, but Ware is arguably the best defensive player in the league regardless of position.

What is Holts contract like?

I believe I read he's due to make $5.5 and $6.5 million over the next two seasons.

I love Steve Smith the player. Im not a big fan of Steve Smith the guy.

I'd rather keep someone like him off our roster.

I'd take Roy Williams over Boldin just because Roy Williams has more speed and I don't think he has reached his entire ceiling.

I believe off that list Roy Williams has the most upside and it seems like when players come to Dallas our conditioning coaches, position coaches, and Head Coach seem to get more out of players than other teams.

I'd also like Holt because hes a good guy who could come in and keep his ego in check.

My list would go.

1. Roy Williams

2. Boldin

3. Holt... Boldin over holt because of age.

4. Smith

5. Ocho - Love the Ocho show but not here in Big D.

I think there's a 0 percent chance of Steve Smith being moved. I think both coach and GM are in a "win now" mode and wouldn't dare weaken the current team for future picks. In fact, they traded away next year's #1 to Philadelphia to improve this year.

2. Anquan Boldin. I wanted him in that Draft. I have always liked him. Once he has the ball he is hard to bring down. 10% chance. I just don't believe AZ will move him.

Not this year anyway. For Boldin to get out of Arizona, he has to become "the bad guy" who'll be enough of a pain for the team to want to be rid of him.

3. Roy Williams. My feelings about him are hardly a mystery. 80% chance. If Detroit loses next week after the bye this week, they need to look towards the future, that means stockpiling Draft picks.

It makes the most sense, but when was the last time Detroit did anything that made sense?

4. Chad Johnson. I refuse to call him Ocho Cinco. I don't care if that is his legal name. 10% chance. Just like AZ, I don't think they will move him.

Marvin Lewis is on the hot seat and needs to win to have any chance of saving his job. Trading one of his top players won't help him do that. And Cincinnati seldom makes trades anyway, even when they should.

5. Torry Holt. I don't think we need a WR over 30 which is why he and Chad are at the bottom of the list. 50% chance if he is released. 5% chance we'd trade for him.

I think Holt would be a great fit for the next two season and could help this offense go from great to unstoppable. Crayton came up smallest once again when he had his best opportunity. The Packers were determined to double Owens and Crayton had zero catches despite lesser coverage. A player like Holt would give opposing defenses fits about who to cover, making all of Dallas' weapons that much more effective.

If the price is right, I could see the Cowboys making a move for him but I have my doubts that he's truly available.

If he's released the contract won't matter. He'd be free to sign a new contract with the new team.

Definitely.

But I can't honestly see any way that a team - even the Rams - would be foolish enough to do that when he surely has significant trade value.

There is still only one football to spread around between TO, Witten, Barber, Felix, etc. Adding Roy Williams will take away opportunities from the others. First, ask TO if he wants Roy on the team. And the other WRs are doing just fine. We don't need WR Roy Williams and his high salary.

But, if Detroit would trade WR Roy Williams for LB Bobby Carpenter and S Roy Williams, go for it.

Ed Werder was on the radio here yesterday. He said he doesn't think they will make a move for a receiver until after the season, and that Roy Williams is at the top of the list.

Considering what Romo said about Austin before the season, what Austin did in the pre-season, and what Austin did last week, that (waiting) sounds like the way to go.

Werder is probably right, but I do think before the deadline is a possibility. Not a definite thing, which is why I said 80%.

I can see that as a distinct possibility, but I guess I'm a 'bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' type personality because I feel that if you can make the move, improve now, and give yourself absolutely the best chance for success as soon as possible, that you do it.

It would be nice to keep next year's #1 and still be able to sign Roy Williams as a free agent, but I'd rather do everything I could to get him now and make this year's team that much better.

I agree 100%. I think making the move right now makes us virtually unbeatable and it is insurance for the long haul when Owens career is winding down.

I gotta tell ya... just reading the thread title I got excited :D

Now.... why you frontin' yo!
You knows ya wanna put like 99.9% on Roy Williams ;)

:D

For the record. I see him in Dallas either before deadline or first thing next year. If Detroit was smart... I know lmao.... they would send him to Dallas and get started on future.

Its really inevitable. I would be SHOCKED if he isnt in Dallas soon.

Tend to agree about Smith. Being here in Charlotte he wasn't liked by teamates BEFORE he cheap shotted Lucas. Selfish guy who really doesn't like another = WR on the roster even if he says he wants to win. A selfless player like Holt would be a nice fit even at his age. Win NOW as there is no guarantee of the future. Ask NE.
