Why do we need to draft a wr? We have TO, Glenn, Crayton, Hurd as a really solid group of 4. Where will this wr play?

We dont need a safety either.

Stop complaining.

:welcome: to the forum.

As to your question...the first 3 guys you named are 33, 34 and UFA next year.

We have as our best WRs two 33 years old. Crayton disapears at time for a third WR. I don't think we are as set at WR as you suppose. Ditto at the safty position except for Roy we could use some FS help. Take them as they come and so far I have been remarlable restrained in complaining. Really.

And they are still playing at a very high level. There are no 3-5 round receivers that are better than or even close to the wr's we have. I dont mind taking a wr if the player is an impact player. There were only 3 wr impact players in this draft.

next year will have more. Better to wait until next year.

T.O. will be a stud for two more years.......his body is like no other....next year we will draft a great WR with one of our two 1st rd pks.

TO and Glenn are both going to be 33 next year. I doubt both will be back next year...possibly both will be gone.

Crayton is a FA. Will he pay him a big contract? We'll need to pay Romo remember....and probably Newman as well. We may not be able to retain him.

Hurd and Austin have nice potential. Austin probably has quite a bit more. But both are UDFAs. Do you really want us to go into 08 with Crayton/Austin/Hurd as our top WRs?

I know you'll say....we'll be in position to draft a WR next year. Really? Cause we're probably going to look at RB....plus, WRs take time to develop. Which top WR came into the league and just tore it up?

We don't need a safety?

Whoa....can't disagree more. Saftey is so uncertain.

There's nothing wrong with complaining. That's what these boards provide. A place for us to discuss our team. Would you rather have us all chant: "Jones is always right....Jones is always right...Jones is always right.."?

Ok then. Which WR should we have drafted?

Knock on wood Biz, don't say that about T-New. I want to keep him and get another very good cover corner. I defend to the death my right to spend every last one of Jerrys pennys in keeping T-New.

We might want to address this position at some point soon. Our starting wideouts are nearing the end of their careers. Both are still highly productive, we have been rather fortunate with Glenn. He has been relatively healthy for the past two seasons. Prior to that, not so much.

Might not dodge that same bullet again.

I like how day two is shaping up. I don't mind passing on receivers for the linemen we have taken. Not at all. But wide receiver is not as stockpiled as we might want to believe.

To those complaining about drafting a WR..answer this question..

WHO? Which impact WR could we have gotten? or do you want us to draft a WR just to fill up space?

I never said we should've drafted a WR. I would like to have seen us somehow get one of the better ones....

I've been harping more about our ignoring CB, FS, and DT.

You asked why people thought we needed a WR....I answered you.
