By any standard, The Dallas Cowboys have been a failure for decades. Play-off wins, NFC Championships, Super-Bowl appearances, Super-Bowl victories, etc...

It's not a beauty contest. The goal is winning.

The one constant throughout decades of failure is the self appointed amateur GM.

Dallas has the longest streak of any team in the NFC without making it to the final four.

If you've been paying attention, Jerry isn't trying to be a contender this year. Everything he is doing points to next year as the target. He does everything through the draft, and you can see where he was focused. I liked our first round pick, but it is not a win now pick. It's a build pick. Next draft we'll probably see a totally different focus building off this year. Don't expect much this year. If we have a surprisingly good year, all the better.

They generally do well in the draft. What's frustrating to me is that I've seen Jerry go from signing Deion almost immediately after Smith got hurt to "we like our guys."
