All I hear from the media is how lousy our WR's are and letting TO go was the worst thing we could have done. I'm just curious on what folks think compared to other teams WR's from playoff teams. This does not include TE's.

NE - great - Moss/Welker/Galloway ( I give them a pass because Brady was out)
Indy - good - Wayne/Gonzalez/?
San Diego - average - Chambers/Jackson/Floyd
Tennessee - average - Washington/Gage/McCariens
Baltimore - average - Mason/Clayton/Williams
Carolina - good - Smith/Muhammad/Jarrett
Giants - good - Plax/Smith/Hixon - becomes average is Plax is gone
Philly - average - Jackson/Curtis/Avent/Baskett
Arizona - great - Fitz/Bolden/Breston
Minnesota - poor - Berian/Rice/Wade
Atlanta - good - White/Jenkins/Douglas
Pitts - good - Ward/Holmes/Sweed

I think ours are just as good if not better than most of those teams. All in all I think we will be fine without TO, we just need better coaching and more discipline.

If Indy is good (likihood ++ due QB) then Philly is as well (yes Jackson is that big a threat with that QB). Bolts are at least good. Rivers can't catch it himself. Prob put NO on that list. Minn may get good, too.

I'd put Dallas as a ?? right now. At least avg and probably better.

Roy Williams + PC + Austin might = good, when you add in Witten you get GREAT. The reality is Witten is our best receiver. Throw in Bennett and Felix and we have plenty of options to go to when we pass the ball. I challenge anyone to go find another team that has 6 potential receiving threats that are comparable to ours, there may be some, but not many.

Gotta put Buffalo on that list.

T.O.
Lee Evans
Roscoe Parrish

All three of those guys can take it to the house in an instant.

I agree..Witten is arguable our #1 with Roy as our # 2..that's a pretty darn good recieving tandem just by itself and most teams would kill for that duo.

Man we are just as good as any team out there if not better when you throw in the rb's. If we draft good development type players at O-line we shall be a force for easily the next 3-5 years...

Yep and then you forgot about their 1st round pick James Hardy from Univ. of Indiana. He didn't produce much in '08 but I believe he's still going to be pretty good.

I'd say our WR core is average.. It really depends on what Austin does. That's why I want Holt. I can't bank on Austin like that..

Trent Green passed for over 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons from 03-05. Guess who his number one receiver was those years? Eddie Kinnison. His other targets at WR? Donte Hall and Jonnie Morton. Oh and Larry Johnson rushed for 1700+ in 05. How's that for offense?

We have the best TE in football, a matchup nightmare underneath in Felix Jones, and a pretty good possession jump ball receiver. Not to mention our trio of RB's. Add to this an extremely gifted young TE with a very high ceiling, and a WR with speed who has improved every year he was in the league, and we will be just fine on offense.

Last year was a prime example of not enough balls to go around. Spreading the wealth is always a good thing.

Roy Williams shouldnt surprise anyone with his abilities.

He is going to put on a show next year.

Miles Austin hopefully will be the guy the explodes. He has bigtime abilities and has played well in games.

Its going to be fun to watch. Especially now that Garrett doesn't have an excuse to spread the ball around wink wink.

Not sure if those people will be the defenses of other teams or the fans here that think they already know the answer.

When we have defenses putting 8 men in the box all year, you guys will be asking for a vertical threat. I like to be positive but lets see how good Austin looks against 1st and 2nd tier corners.

I would love to get a (healthy) Deon Branch type of WR in the Draft this year to add to our WR mix.

If teams put 8 men in the box all day, then Witten and Roy Williams will have a field day.

People keep acting like Roy Williams is an after thought for some reason. This is a guy that put up numbers for 4 straight years in Detroit.....

Actually, if Dallas decides to pass when seeing an 8 man front the defense would be in great position to double Witten with the SS and OLB. That would also allow them to double RW11 (if they care to) with the FS and CB. That means whoever wins the #2WR spot, Crayton or Austin, must consistently beat one on one coverage.

We know Crayton struggled doing so when he was a #2 and now the question is can Austin. I hope so. If not, I say run the ball anyway. Emmitt ran against 8 men and so does every great back or great running attack. Make someone miss or impose your will against theirs.

our WR core is poor. If you consider the Vikings WR core to be poor then you have to consider ours to be poor as well the only difference is they have a much better run game than us.
