I saw it this afternoon too, JSN.

I haven't read the reviews, so I went to this with no expectations.

It was only o.k. The story moved o.k. Some tense / suspenseful moments. I'd probably give it a C or C+.

Thats probably a fair grade. It was entertaining, I enjoyed seeing it, but there were some serious head scratching moments when I had to turn my brain off. SPOILER

Like why did the Russian organ harvester have to be gay? Why did DOCTOR Scully google her treatment options? Why did Mulder turn into the unabomber when the alien invasion is like 3 years away?

But despite that, like I said, I did enjoy it and I hope this isnt the last of Mulder and Scully I see on the big screen.

And I will say that seeing Skinner made the movie for me. That character is a badass, and he fully represented in this movie.

ITs a good episode of the series. CC finally made up to the fans for all the crap he put them through the last two years of the show. Sadly, it got swallowed up by TDK and Fox did a really lousy job of promoting it.

Pretty poor movie in my opinion. The story was extremely weak. The FBI guys were atrocious, and the stupid sick boy subplot was terribly lame. Sad they had to rely on that to make the film feature length.

I agree about the FBI guys. Xzbit was pretty bad, it was nothing that Robert Patrick couldnt do and I was thrilled to see Amanda Peet get pwned. I thought that whole chase sequence was really well done.

The sick kid story kind of sucked, I actually looked at my friend and went TIMMAY whenever we saw him for the first time.

I fully intended into turning this into MST3k walking into the theatre, but its really not THAT bad. Enjoyable for anyone that liked the series.

The entire film was done for less than 30 Million, its actually pretty damn good when you take that into consideration.

I've never seen one episode of the X-Files. I'll probably see the movie however.

That's exactly how I felt. It wasn't bad but I could have easily waited for this to come out on video or HBO.

I like how JSN said this:

Yeah, the use of Google was beyond stupid. That moment made me cringe even with my brain turned off. It isn't difficult to identify other shortcomings too (the FBI agents were silly bad, as CP mentioned).

I found it entertaining and I wasn't bored by it, but it wasn't special in any particular way. I left the theater thinking that it was only o.k., and mildly bland, lackluster, underwhelming. But I didn't feel ripped off for the $5.50 matinee ticket.

Sad thing is that there are many worse movies that make more money. More a reflection of the moviegoers then anything else.

Yeah, that new Wil Ferrel movie where he plays the same character he always plays is doing better somehow.

Step Brothers was a much more enjoyable movie than X-Files. That's kind of surprising since I can't remember the last Will Ferrell movie that I enjoyed. If there ever was one.

Now, the new Mummy movie, that was a total piece of crap, easily worse than the X-Files, and is in competition with The Happening, and from what I hear The Love Guru for worst movie of the year so far. It'll be sad if it beats out The Dark Knight this weekend.

While I dont think that M night's movies are the greatest.. I think he gets a bum rap... set the bar high with Sixth Sense...

Happening wasnt bad - he is more of a modern day twilight zone director... an acquired taste.
