The X.Woods INT in practice has been debated with regards to why the pick happened.

The 1st image below is the point when the ball was leaving Dak's hand.

The 2nd image below has the INT super-imposed onto the 1st image.
- Where you clearly see #18, Woods is in front and has jumped to catch the ball.
- Everything same as 1st image except Cobb/Woods added at the point of the INT.

The question is with regards to the route by Cobb.

If Cobb stops or cuts inside, does the INT still happen?

My opinion:

A) If Cobb stops, the interception is not likely since Woods momentum would have taken him out of the play.
B) If Cobb runs a quick slant, the interception is more likely since Woods has positioned himself well inside Cobb's route but IF Woods also does not allow Cobb to outmuscle him while driving through his coverage.

It's both of them. The lack of chemistry between them has been noted. Hopefully it is worked out by regular season.

There are bigger issues than whether or not Cobb came back, primarily, they were pre-snap.

1. Cobb read the CB blitz, Dak didn't.
2. We don't know what the hot route was, but Cobb just runs a fade.

Dak threw a slant or comeback ball, but that's not what Cobb was running. Idk who gets the blame (I'd say Dak, but it's play action which might change the hot), but the pick was thrown pre-snap.

My opinion is that it is an ill-advised pass that had no chance for completion no matter what Cobb does - Xavier is at least getting a hand on it!

Yes....clearly it was Dak's fault...lol. He is new to this offense while Cobb has been in it for years...oh wait!

Prescott didn't see him.
He did a great job appearing to be out of the play and them closing in when the ball was released.

What Chuck said. In training camp, you do things you wouldn't do in an actual game. It's your test laboratory for doing things and experimenting.

1. Interceptions happen.
2. They are usually the result of QB and receiver communication errors.
3. Or, they're tipped.
4. Sometimes DBs just make great plays.

Rarely do NFL quarterbacks just make horrible throws for picks. Usually there are multiple things that go wrong.
Not rare for this franchise.

Hard to tell because in camp and practices Dak is loose with the ball. He takes chances he wouldn’t during games. Looked like he didn’t see Woods. Was a nice play by Woods.

Kellen Moore was interviewed yesterday morning by Dallas sports radio and was asked about it

he basically said he was glad that it happened so that they can work out those kinks early, and also stated that Dak and Cobb were both claiming responsibility for the mistake

Woods is like the Bears' Eddie Jackson... not quite prime ET, but a very good FS.

Problem is we don't have a starting SS on the roster... I think Iloka has always been average now he's old. Donovan Wilson maybe?

Sorry, but I don't see the point to this post. Why do we need to analyze every single thing that happens in camp?
