Xavier Woods - Scouting Report (video)

He is an upside guy to me. He is a guy who could be a bit feast or famine very early in his career of he gets major playing time. He is a football player though and he will grow. His ability to both play the run and be a playmaker in the back end is very intriguing.

I think he could be the favorite in a 3 man race to be that 3rd safety. Never count out vet experience with Blanton and the Cowboys really liked Frazier coming out. However unless Woods will win out unless he is undisciplined in camp and preseason.

Could be a high snap volume role, it was last year. Although they may use 4 CB's more now in subpackages
Should be able to do what Wilcox did, but better.

Interesting to see him come down and cover the slot, ala Darren in his prime. We have plenty of slot corners vying for a position, but flexibility is valued around here.

He produced 14 INTs in college, gotta like someone who has produced at that level, which gives hope it can be translated to the same here.

Is it true that the 2017 NFL Draft was an All-TIme Historic Defensive Back Draft.....may be.
We'd already grabbed two DBs, but even in the 4th there were some potentially really good ones still on the board when we picked.
Damonte Kazee and Dez King ( CB/FS) were still there.
Not at all complaining about us taking Switzer, but DT Carlos Watson was there too. Kind of liked him as well.

I was a big fan of both Kazee and D.King; although, Kazee would be a bit redundant with Lewis and King is just a projection at either FS or SS.

Subscribe to ****NOT-AN-OFFICIAL-SOURCE*** on YouTube. He's got pretty good film and mostly unbiased scouting. Decent production value.

That dude doesn't know that much about what he's talking about... and he is anything but unbiased.

He uses football terms and buzzwords and that makes people think he knows what he's talking about.

Not the greatest football mind, but if you are bored during the offseason there are certainly worse ways you could use your time.

I watched a few vids of his but he is just winging it and throwing out terms that he's heard coaches use like "use the boundry", "Click and close", etc.

He provides little to no insight and sometimes he's just flat out wrong.

I just can't watch them, which is a shame because as his views go up, he's churning out more and more of these videos. I'd love to watch to help pass the offseason and I know he puts in some work.

Alas, I feel dumber at the end of each one.
