Wow. The second places Angels in the WEST are absolutely EMBARRASSING the Yankees.

This deserves it's own thread just because it's the ****ty stankees.

What do you expect though with ROID users like A-ROID and Mark-ROIDER playing first base.

Right now I say either Detroit or the Angels are playing the best in the AL...when it matters.

Yankees once again fading when it matters.

And that's ok.

Baseball is definitely not the sport to knee jerk. Any sport for that matter.

Am I the only one was was cheering like hell for the Yankees? They were facing the Angels...who cut our lead to 1.5 games with that win...

At this point, I am a fan of any team the Angels face down the line, our pitching is insanely inconsistent and we need help to get to the playoffs now. If we don't win the division, we miss the playoffs.

I'm assuming you guys are Ranger fans, if not then nvm.

My favorite time of the year as far as sports goes. Baseball making its final push to the playoffs and football starting up.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but my Royals are not on pace to lose 100 this year? I'm surprised and impressed.

Nice to see the dedication!

Good.

Piss on the Yankees.

Normally I would totally agree with you on this, but us Ranger's fans needed the Yankees to win a few against the nasty Angels. Unfortunately, communism has prevailed and the Angels are winning.

Thankfully the Rangers won today.

I just don't get the OP's point. Yankees went into LA/Anaheim and lost 2 out of 3, none by any score that stands out as particularly humiliating. It just doesn't strike me as anything more than a routine mid-September 3-game set.

Guess you're blind. :) With a $200M salary, if they won every single game they played, they would still be paying well over $1M per win. Instead, they are going to pay a well over $2M per win and yet, still got their ***** kicked in by the Angels.

If it weren't for the Rangers, Blue Jays, and Rays. The Yankees would already have lost possession of 1st place in the AL East to Boston. Another team that should be absolutely embarrassed to be sporting a $160M payroll and going 2-9 in their last 11 games.

No, I'm not blind... I just know a lot more about baseball than you do.

The Angels took 2 out of 3. How in the world is that the Yankees getting "their ***** kicked"?

I don't think you understand how baseball works. It's not like football. You play 162 games. You're going to have winning streaks, you're going to have losing streak. You're going to win some by a lot, you're going to lose some by a lot. The Yankees dropped 2 out of 3 against a talented Angels team fighting for their playoff lives. That's not even remotely noteworthy in a season of 162 games.

Now if you want to talk about the inequities of the MLB financial structure, then you certainly have a point. The NFL's system is far superior. But as for the Yankees... they have the best record in the AL and the 2nd best record in the Majors. So I'm just not seeing them as a bunch of bumbling *******es making complete fools of themselves like you see them.

I don't know how baseball works? You would be dead wrong. My statements are hate, but you missed it. Although, I'm in no way wrong about a $200M salary getting their *** handed to them by a $55M salary or anything remotely close to that. (ie, the Rangers stomping the **** out of the Yankees in the playoffs last year) The Yankees should be embarrassed. With their payroll, nobody should be able to beat them. Alas, even attempting to buy a World Series doesn't always work. Maybe it's the Yankees that don't know how baseball works.

With all this talk of how the Yankees are embarrassing themselves, the facts of the matter are that when this thread was started, 2 days ago, the Yankees had a 2.5 game lead on the Red Sox and a 7 game lead on the Rays. Today, after having embarrassed themselves, they have increased their lead over the Sox to 4 game and still hold a 7 game lead on the Rays.

What happens in the Eastern Division will be decided in these last two weeks of the season.

The Yankees have 2 games against Seattle, 3 games against Toronto (all on the road) and 1 game against the Twins. After that, they hit the home stretch and we will know what's what. 4 against Tampa, 3 against the Sox (all at home) and they close with another 3 against Tampa.

The Rays have 2 against Baltimore, 4 against Boston, 4 against the Yanks (all on the road), 3 against Toronto and they close with 3 against the Yanks all at home.

Boston has the easiest path with 2 against Toronto, 4 against Tampa, 4 against Baltimore (all at home), 3 against the Yanks and 3 against Baltimore all on the road.

By far the easiest path but their pitching is also in the worst shape of the three right now.

We'll see who ends up embarrassed in a few weeks.

Yeah, sure thing. Ignore the fact that they have the best record in the AL and the 2nd best record in the Majors; Anything less than 162-0 for a team that spends a lot of money is complete humiliation.
