Some o yall are hilarious.. When the stats favor Dak "stats don't matter." When the stats paint a negative picture "the stats tell you all you need to know." Some o yall need to be treated for schizophrenia. Dak was under duress pretty much the whole game yesterday. You know, the whole three brand new starters on the o-line thing. That was not the time to be going bombs away. It was a crappy game by the whole team not named Michael Gallup. It happens.. as long as it doesn't happen a lot I can live with it.
I'm right there with you on the stats dont matter piece....Dak didn't light up the stat sheet in weeks 1 & 2 but overall I thought he played very well in those games, with really just a handful of inaccurate passes that anyone can criticize him for.. What I didn't see was Dak under duress all day yesterday though. I thought overall the OL played pretty well. The LT got beat a few times early on, but that seemed to get cleaned up. The interior replacements I came away very impressed with and actually feel good about this teams OL depth.

Dak just seems to be a little more hesitant in games where defenses really commit to deeper shell coverages. Especially yesterday Arizona played with a ton of guys standing up and Dak seemed to be thrown off by who was coming and who was dropping, credit to Arizona for that. The underneath stuff was there often yesterday, the run game was there yesterday, but it almost felt like both Dak and MM struggled to just take what Arizona was giving them consistently. Don't get me wrong Dak had some great moments, I still cant believe that 3rd and 12 run he had, but he clearly was not playing his best game. I look at MM and just how he called that game though. It felt like in the 2nd half he became overly aggressive at times. The 4th & 4 call I think was terrible. He talked all season about playing to the strength of his defense, but then puts the game on Daks shoulders. I think it puts a sense of urgency on Dak that doesn't need to be there. kick the FG, make it a one-possession game and go challenge your defense to stop an inferior opponent. Dak has a lot of clutch throws in his career, but it just felt like an unnecessary risk to me that signals to Dak that its all on him in a game where he wasnt at his best.

We are 3 games into the season. The first game, the Cowboys took a commanding lead early in the game and there was no reason to take chances throwing deep downfield. The game plan should have been to run the ball and throw lots of short passes to eat up the clock and control the ball. Against the Jets, at home, they expected and got a defensive battle. There were a few long throws but again they took the lead and protected it. Make no mistake, the Cowboys expect their defense to keep them in games so they will play a ball control, plodding offense to win games and avoid mistakes.

This last game was different. I think the Cowboys expected a pass rush to disrupt their passing game because they were missing 3 starters. I think Dak had less time on most plays to throw and he was making quicker decisions than he had in the first two games. The Cowboys till outgained the Cardinals in the game, and they rushed for 185 yards. The problem, as others have stated, was the red zone offense. IT was very vanilla and they showed nothing to confuse the defense or get them out of position. Down near the goal line they need to be a little more creative to get receivers open in a compressed field. They did not do that yesterday.

Give the Cardinals credit. When the Cowboys tried to get the ball outside, their LBs and DB were quick to get to the ball and make the stops. When they tried to go inside, the DL and LBs closed the running lanes near the goal.

I would try two get Dak running into the goal to go offense, and I would true Hunter Luepke running and taking pitch outs down their too. He is a big guy and from teh 5 yards line him taking a pitchout from Dak and running to the goal through smaller DBs might be a successful play.

Every body knows a coach need to talent to win. What makes a coach great is their ability to maximize the talent that is there and not screw it up. Dak peaked long ago and the fact of the matter is, if he was on the Titans, he'd have been a fart in the wind AS A STARTER.

As far as a backup, like I said years ago, Dak is the idea back-up which is what he was drafted for anyways. This is where his niche was and is. He can keep your team afloat when your starter goes down and win games. Being a really good back up creates a problem, as folks think that he's actually a starter when he wins on a talented team. So a bad franchise pays big bucks and he ends up scrubbing long-term.

There seems to be an implication in here that McCarthy is being held back by Dak.

That's far from the case here.

No, I just think they are validated by the fact that Dak is who they said he was, because it's a response to the fact that Dak was allegedly being held back by Moore.

McCarthy also scapegoated Moore, along with Dak fanboys, and now Dak fanboys are back to making every excuse in the book other than the "coaching change" that they claimed would prove Dak has always been the guy.

In reality, the central figure is Dak...
