After listening to his sunday conversation with Irvin, I know Romo is not a leader. His statement regarding what it takes to win says it all. to take a back handed stab at TO and the problems from the past is really stupid. that's falling into the trap. that's falling into what the media wants you to say or do. do you think Aikman or Manning would have answered that way? Aikman would have answered something like, going to practice, focusing and raising the sense of urgency with everyone on the team instead of "no finger pointing", everyone doing their thing and worrying about themselves...etc.

I know this is neat picking, but focus is not to get even now that you have the opportunity to get back at a certain inndividua. its not that complicated. focus. raise the sense of urgency. understand every play and every game is important. execute the game plan. its not that hard.

sorry, this highschoolish, hollywood TMZ type of drama doesn't get you to win anything.

that's why we need a coach with a strong personality. some one like parcells. doesn't ahve to do anything with X's and O's but in the absence of leadership in the players, we need a leader at the head coaching level. Switzer was a bafoon, but we had Irvin, Aikman, Haley and Smith. this team has no true leaders, specially at the all important QB position. no team with out a true leader at the QB has won a superbowl in the past 20 years. a strong coach, would kick Romo's freaking arse into being the leader that he needs to be and get away from the drama.

this may sound like a rant

What should he say to that question? Well, I guess he should have just said "Win." huh?

Give me a break. I knew there would be people that over analyzed what he said when he said that, but did you even listen to Irvins resopnse when he was talking to the guys at the table about this?

Romo is the absolute LEAST of our problems on this team.

Let's begin with the O and D line before anything else....then we can go to the D backfield after that.

Guy has 20 TD passes to 7 ints and he is the problem? OK

Pretty sad when you are being questioned when playing to that level.

Romo is not the problem and he is not the solution.... franchise Qbs create solutions to their teams failures!

Ironically last week aikman said if hewere on this team right now and someone asked him about past decembers he would scream tell them it has nothing to do with this years team and walk away. He said that to the musers on the ticket last thursday by the way.

If romo did that, what would the reaction be?

when romo is done playing football here, he is going to hate cowboys fans just like troy does....and with posts like the OP's who could blame him.

No Romo and we would not even be sniffing the playoffs for a very long time.

You are right though, I suppose if Romo were the leader you think he should be special teams would not have allowed a punt return for a TD and someone on our defense would have tackled Brandon Jacobs.

Thing is it it the honest truth. What took place last season has nothing to do with this season. It is not the same team. I could understand the rational if all things remained the same but they don't. Pitt won the SB last year so what they don't look like a SB team this year the past is in the past it can't be changed what takes place in the future is not known

Romo is the absolute LEAST of our problems on this team.

Let's begin with the O and D line before anything else....then we can go to the D backfield after that.

what he shouldn't have done is give a back handed answer to get back at Romo. that's playing into the media's hand. its not his first time responding to the media and playing "the game". He shouldn't have fallen into the trap. earlier in the year, when we beat Philly and he responded by saing "I guess that counts as a big game" in response to the media saying he can't win the big game....heck, that wasn't a big game. and why is he responding to the media? why does he feel he needs to prove a point. that's not sign of a leader.

Romo may not be a problem, but in absence of a strong leader to take the reigns and lead them, and stop them from acting and respoding to gossip, media and playing games, he has not stepped up. he hasn't acted like a leader and the little glimpses he has shown, is not what you want in a leader.

let me give you an example. couple of weeks ago, Manning stepped in the last couple of minutes of a game against the pats. did anyone on that team at the time have any doubt they would win or think they have no chance.....lets take manning out and put romo in....what do you think the indy players would think in that situation? get my point....

he is not able to instill the confidence in his team and other players on the team, that we are going to get it done, I will put you on my back, I will promise you we will get through this.....making you believe...... does romo give you that kind of a confidence.....that's leadership

I never said he was. I just said he doesn't have leadership skills. the weak link is the coaching staff. in absence of leadership among the players, you need the coaching staff to take on that role and we don't have that. switzer was weak, but with Haley, AIkman, Irvin, Smith we had the leadership in the players to overcome other weaknesses.

Why that reaction? I never said romo was bad, or not talented, or not skilled, or doesn't work hard. its a fact, without anyone being able to deny it, that without leaders on a team, you are not going to win in this league. right now we have no leaders, coaching on down. we will never win with this current staff or group of players. its just not going to happen. we are talented. we are hard working. we are going to win a few games. but when its all on the line, when everyone is really good, when its a test of wills, we just don't have the make up to pull through. end of story.

If I am wrong, I will print this page in color and eat it.

A loss like the Giants makes me so thankful that TO is gone. This season's team has a chance to regroup and bounce back after a loss like that. TO would have gone bat-guano crazy, gone scorched earth policy and sabotaged the entire team in some insane, self deluded conspiracy theory this week... if he hadn't swallowed a bottle of painpills already.

when did I say he was the problem? I just said he doesn't have the leadership skills. those two are not the same problem. I also never said he doesn't have skills, or he is bad, etc. .....quit putting words in my mouth.....

yes. agreed. with kitna, we would have been at best 5-8. but Romo doesn't have the leadership skills that everyone is trying to sell so hard. you don't have to sell a leader. you don't have to explain it. they just have it. he doesn't and a lot of that is because of his actions.

all I said, is without true leadership on this team, we are never going to make it, or win the big one and this team will take a whole lot of pride if they make it to the playoffs and win a game. that would be their superbowl. they will thumb their noses at us and say, see we can win a playoff game...missing the forest because of the trees......

I bet you wade will stand on the podium and tell us that he won a playoff game, when everyone said we couldn't.

Romo will say they won a big one, when everyone said we couldn't....wait he already did that.

they will consider winning a game in the playoff their ultimate goal.....that's sad.
