Yes we need Defense, Do we need more Offense?

I like our offense as it is. We don't need multiple passing options, we had that in 2007-2010, and it always seemed like some player or another wasn't getting the ball enough. Now, we have a running game, Dez & Witten. Beyond that we have Beasley, Williams & Escobar as secondary players. We don't need any more attacking options, we don't even have enough balls to get guys like Dunbar in the game, and we all know what he's capable of.

Speed receiver, speed rb in draft...What else if anything? Need more firepower I say...

I absolutely think we need more speed on offense. The lack of real speed is why teams thought they could overload blitz us without paying for it.

Speed will take this offense up a level. We saw it often when Randle ran the ball. Same holes Murray was wasting.

In this league, you simply have to specialize. You can't be amazing on both sides of the ball, so I have no problems stacking the offense. I'd actually considering grabbing a top tier rb if available and then using the money we would have paid Murray towards getting someone on defense in FA.

We have plenty of needs on offense if you have foresight.

QB, RB, WR, RT, OG, possibly TE.

Probably only RB is a must but there are needs that will become dire needs if they're ignored.

Man you couldn't be more right about the 2013 DL but more wrong about the 2012 OL. Remember we signed Bernadeau & Livings for the 2012 OL and had Cook starting at center (in place of Costa). That OL never once looked good lol.

The DL for last year, 100% right. We were supposed to have a healthy Ware, Ratliff, Spencer, an up-and-comer in Crawford. What could have been....

I didn't say great, but Bernadeau and Livings looked like reasonable NFL starters. Bern had played both OG and OC in the past. Linvings had been a legit NFL starter. Most thought Free would be fine moving back to RT. Nagy looked like he might have something after 4 starts as a rookie in 2011. He was expected to compete for the starting Center position with Costa. Kowalski was also thought to have potential at Center.

As it turned out, Cook was a last minute addition and their 4th choice at Center after Costa, Nagy and Kowalski were injured. Bern played injured for that entire season. Once he was fully healthy which didn't happen until the middle of the 2013 season, he was a decent OG. Livings looked good for a couple of games and then had an injury and his play fell apart. Doug Free was worse at RT than he had been at LT the previous year.

you're a draftnick, what's available in the second round? Seems like a good place to find one of these.

Like another poster posted, an olineman would be ok, but then all defense

If Free & Parnell are gone Right Tackle scares me. You would think having 3 pro-bowlers on the o-line would be enough to offset a mediocore RT's deficiencies, but I just keep having flashbacks of Alex Baaron in the 2010 opening Commander's game & Rob Pettiti/ Torin Tucker in the earlier years. Zach Martin is a good fallback option, but I wouldn't mind seeing them address RT in the draft/ affordable free agent.

The fan in me wants to see what this O would look like with a real burner to take the top off the defense and scare the heck out of Defenses league wide. But, what do i know

I'm fine with looking for some projects in the later rounds, but no premium picks should be used on the offense.

The offense doesn't have a starting running back or tight tackle under contract, and that's assuming Dez gets tagged and Leary gets tendered. Of course we need more offense. Not a lot, but some.

BPA never hurts. Will be interesting if someone like AJ Cann - Guard SC is there at 27 and he is rated a lot higher than any other position. Do we take the #1 rated guard? We did try and trade back into the 3rd round last year for Trai Turner. hmmmmm.

I dont know, kinda doubting we do another 1st rnd OL men. These contracts are gonna come up and having 4 1st rnd OL men would constitute a big big % of our cap. I say no way that happens this yr.

First you see what happens in FA. That can help going into the draft. I would to see a draft focusing on Defense... With that in mind it should not lock the team into taking defense with every pick or even the top picks. If they have some one one the board who is an offensive player who is rated much higher than the top defensive line player available... Take the offensive player or see if you can get what you feel is better trade value.

We could still look for an OT, OG, WR or RB.

I kind of hope we get some quality player(s) in FA that allows us to go into the draft with BPA attitude in mind versus glaring holes/need.

Right Tackle. Free and Parnell are free agents. I can see us resigning Parnell to a 2 year deal as he is younger and cheaper than Free. Also Free missed alot of time this year and now has bone spurs in his ankle. He will have to have surgery to remove and those do come back. I think it's time to walk away from Free and finish this OL rebuild at RT if BPA in the first 2 rounds.

I want Lockett who is a sleedy WR that can return punter and kickoffs and let Harris walk.

Then we may need a RB. Dallas low balled Murray and he will get more in the open market. I can see dallas spending a 2nd or 3rd on a RB. Even 27th pick if the right guy is there and is BPA.

So I could see our first 3 picks all be offense. I know no one wants to see that this year but if that's the BPA at RT, WR, and RB why not? It's better than reaching on a defensive player.
