Zeke has his strengths as does Pollard but neither are being used to that effect. Zeke gets gritty yards and is a heck of a blocker and Tony is shifty and elusive that can take it to the house. They are both good backs if Moore will use them properly to their strengths. It's mind boggling that Moore isn't in tune with that process.

Pollard absolutely deserves more runs then the 3 per game he received last year. Doesn't mean he starts and certainly doesn't mean he has to be in critical pass plays.

Never liked Elliott from the get go. And now it shows why. Elliotts longest run was 7 yards Sunday night. His numbers continue declining while Pollard is progressing. Elliott will be gone next year being Jerry is tired of paying $14 million dollars per sesaon to a bust RB. Pollard will be done his rookie contract after this season. Betcha a cookie Pollard will get a nice deal w/Dallas while the "Zeke" fans will be rooting for the franchise he goes to.

He only got 10 carries, which produced 52 yards. How do you hate on those numbers? Except for the fact that his carries were limited by the pass-happy OC.

The op is overrating the overrating of Pollard.
Like some have already stated, Pollard has always been known to not be a blocking back so it is on the OC for using him wrong.
He is a very dynamic runner who can make some serious plays but we need a real OC to use the combo of Zeke and Pollard to get most out of both.

Simply looked like the OC doesn't know how to use Pollard. Why should he be asked to pickup blitzing LBs when he could motion out the backfield and dictate coverage?

Pollard is better for the simple fact he’s capable of a big play and Zeke isn’t.

It’s a big play league and handing to Zeke has got us no where.

Maybe but it's no secret Todd wasn't going to let us run the ball. Hell, if we're being honest, a high school coach could have drawn a plan to stop our offense, stop the run, and force Dak to try to beat you with only one top receiver.......who you're taken out.

Penalties limit your run game.

That was Tony's worst game as a pro. It doesn't prove anything or detract from the previous 2 seasons. Its not like anyone on offense played well.

It proves what was said , he's better as a change of pace back, who struggles to block, and need to be used in the passing game. Nothing wrong with that, it's what he did since his college days.

I agree pollard isn’t an every down back. That said the coaching staff needs to use him better. Don’t bring him in to pass block maybe? Use him as a receiver some. Get him in there and give him the ball and go- he doesn’t need gadget plays. He can be a weapon if they can use him correctly.

Big if. So far there’s no reason to believe they will/can

Good player who can't block for ****! Please please please don't have him in there and ask him to pick up a blitz because it's useless and will get your qb killed.

It's time to put our workhorse to work! Feed Zeke! This also takes the pressure off Cooper Rush to be the man.
Can we ever run a counter type running game? How many times did Lenny have huge cutback lanes to run clear, or have a blocker take out the first guy so he could go 5 yards untouched. Zeke always runs into a pile and gets 3-5 yards, there are never any second level explosive plays. I can't ever remember him doing that. Also when he ever gets in the open field he always goes towards the defender.

This is what we call overreacting to a single game.

Over a full season last year Pollard was statistically one of the most dynamic players in the NFL.

He is a very bad blocker and we have always known this, but it's on Moore to make sure he has the right personnel in for the right plays.

This is a desperate Zeke apologist looking for any good game to prop up his hero.

Moore called a horrid game. Pollard didnt get a carry till 3 minutes left in the 2nd half. Zeke was actually running well and Moore simply abandoned it. Very strange.

Posters hating on Zeke is sure fire sign of a shock bot.

Dude has never looked bad except when he was being a company man and fumbling on purpose during the throwaway year.

Dude always looks like one of the best backs in football with the ball in his hands. Plus he can catch and block.

The hate on this dude doesnt make sense. Hate the contract not the player.

Buddy Zeke has looked bad for the better part of 3 years save for 5 games last year. He is slow and if he doesnt get great blocking he struggles.

Zeke broke 9 tackles ALL OF LAST YEAR!! This is REAL.

I thought Zeke looked good with the limited carries he got. Pollard again was largely ignored in the first half save for some stupid end around where the blocking was horrid.

Those trick plays were poorly planned and poorly executed.

Zeke did look good though. Much better than the way he looked at the end of last season.

Pollard has his spots and strengths, the problem isn't the fans recognizing this, the problem is the staff not recognizing that Zeke was much better last night in every phase.

Well, TB has the best run D in the league, game 1, so Im not even worrying about this teams running game at this point.
We have much bigger fish to fry first.
