You Can’t Rest Your Starters

Here’s why:

1. It is simply not realistic to play 100% of your backups 100% of the time during a game.

2. Sunday has now become Washington’s super bowl. They’ll be pissed and looking to bloody a rival going into the playoffs. The worst thing to do is let off the gas against a motivated opponent (or ever IMO) as it will lead to what you are trying to avoid: injuries.

Best way forward:

1. Rest any legit injured guy
2. Treat Washington as a playoff tuneup. Match their intensity.
3. Play to win. Who knows— the Giants may pull off the unlikely upset.

The mini-bye week was the time to “rest”. Gotta get ready for the playoffs. Get pissed and run over the Commodes on Sunday

You play absolutely everyone other than injured guys and you try to win the game, the division and the #1 seed. What is it that people don’t get about this? This isn’t a debate. It’s what we should and will do and doing anything else would be completely moronic and should lead to an immediate firing. I just don’t get the dozens of threads on here discussing this topic.

Hawk I agree that we need to play our starters. But keep in mind Washington was eliminated when the packers won yesterday. Their SB was yesterday and they lost. There’s no scenario remaining where the Commanders can get in the playoffs so they are playing for…pride?

You don’t rest the starters.

But banged up guys like Micah need rest, prone players for injury like Tyron need to rest and guys like Lamb and Pollard are limited. I’d get pollard his 12 yards and let him sit

His butt needs to play I'm sorry

Carson Wentz for the second year in a row choked away a playoff spot. He might be done as an NFL player.:omg:
I don't know how the Commanders could have trotted him out there yesterday unless Heineke is limited from injury. That organization is more dysfunctional than the Cowboys and I would bet that was not a coaching decision.

You can’t rest them all
But Micah for sure I’d rest
Others I’d try to limit snaps of some guys like both RB’s
I’d play Davis as many snaps as he can handle

I would and take the Tampa matchup in week 1. They are the worst team of the possible opponents Dallas could face. Do not want any part of Green Bay.

Why would we worry about them when the division is potentially on the line? That should be motivation enough.

Most NFL organizations have more issues then the Cowboys. There are only a handful that are better. Jerry and Stephen are celebrities with their radio shows but the last 10 years or so they have developed good football players. Washington is a mess. They are literally a quarterback like Dak away from being a force in the East.

It is amazing how one bad call against the Giants changed their season. The whole East should have made the playoffs.:eek:

Thats as pathetic of an excuse as Tolberts BS after the GB game.

Washington has many chances to be in the playoffs. They are the ones who got beat after there bye week by the same Giants. They are the ones who went back to Wentz and got spanked at home, against the Browns. The only blame for the Commanders not making the playoffs lays at the feet of the QB, Coach, and GM. not some call or no call made in a game that ended in a Tie
