Travis sent a messenger to Sam Houston to tell him that Santa Ana was attacking the Alamo. The messenger told Houston, then rode back and fought his way back into the Alamo to rejoin his comrades.

I forget what happened after that, but the guy was an absolute warrior.

James B Bonham was the messanger. My great (however many) uncle. I understand the post. Lets hope they rally together like the Alamo and stomp the Rams!

Wow!

I should have known the name, I went to Sam Houston Elementary School in Midland and there was a Bonham Elementary also, but I never knew the namesake.

I live in California now, if you read its history of independence the major battle (not making this up) was basically 200 rebels massing against a drunk Mexican landowner who said "I don't need this" and moved south.

People outside of Texas do not know this stuff.

We learned it in 5th grade history class.

There is a time to talk..

There is a time to pickup arms and fight as one.

We are in for a Doosie if we win Saturday and if we get to the NFC Conference Game.

Just would like to see it happen.

Call me a dreamer..

but first you have to have a dream..

to get there.

Later.

Not so....story was taught as is up here in n.dak, 60 yrs old but remember it well, reinforced by various movies thru the years

Your missing the point. He's not asking you to die for the team but instead embrace the season instead of finding things to ***** about.

He thinks betting lines are a worthwhile predictor. Arguing with the ignorant is a fool's errand. Generally speaking pointing out to men how they are wrong makes them shut down to your way of thinking. Most men are incapable of getting over themselves.

If there was a connection between what fans wanted and what actually happens, this might be worthwhile but this entire web site could unify and not have squat effect on the actual outcome.

Some think we'll win, some think we won't and some like me see it can go either way with a couple of breaks. But my positive or negative vibe will have 0 effect on the game. And will actually have 0 effect on how I watch the game, I have no expectations for this game anymore that I did for the SEA game. I hope we win but will not be surprised in the slightest if we don't.

Each should feel the way they want to feel and allows others to feel they way they do and that is not necessarily how they want to feel. Some are conditioned to disappointment and use the lack of expectations as defense. And some force optimism.

It's a shame that people have to keep posting these type of posts. I would guess that all of the CZ members are fans. We dont all have to fawn over the team. Enjoy it your own way and stop trying to push the same old agenda. What fun would it be if we all thought the same way. There would have never have been an Alamo if that was the case.
You don’t get it either.

and the Alamo?

Travis commanded the Garrison at the Alamo after Jim Bowie became I'll.

He was the one who took his sword and drew a line in the dirt and said cross the line..

and stay and defend and die here and now for Texas.

Or do not cross and you are free to leave.

We know what happened.

So..history lesson over

But my point is...

It's time to stop the bickering and cross the line to support our team now

We have a very good shot at this.

Our team needs ALL the FANS right now

You guys know me...

some of you guys like me..

some of you tolerate me..

some of you want to kill me.

Story of my life.

I am 66 years old and I want one more SB before my life game blows a final whistle.

Come on.

Together now..

My best wishes to everybody.

Go Cowboys.

Nice one Red! Didn't even know who William Travis was. Seems that he doesn't inspire some of the folks on here though. You will have as much luck finding one that does inspire all as you will inspiring all to jump on this gravy train. Some would rather debate and argue than eat. I'm like that sometimes. too. One thing I'll never debate is gravy and meat. I'd go with Meatloaf as the great inspiration if I were you.
