You Guys Think Yesterday Matters?

I didn’t enjoy watching that glorified preseason game from our starters yesterday either. The team won last years’ last game of the regular season 51-26, and followed it with a crap out in the postseason.

I’ve said in numerous threads, that the true contenders make it to the championship game of their respective conferences. The Bucs are a bad football team currently. Too many injuries on their offensive line with a 45 year old Brady. The Cowboys should win the game running away. If the Cowboys can make it to the NFCCG looking great (especially the QB), then the core can stay together. If they fall flat and do not make it past the divisional round, they deserve to have older core players removed (or plans started to get them removed-I understand Dak cannot be moved for at least 2 years).

There has never been this weak of a path to the conference championship game in my memory. San Francisco looks like the best team in the conference with the last drafted player playing QB (and the success is not due mostly to him). Winning 12 regular season games is a nice feel good (in back to back years), but the team has already displayed the ability to reach this threshold. Time for Cowboys’ fans to demand a higher standard. This is it-put up or forever shut up for this core.
It really was a glorified preseason game yesterday, and boy did it look like a Cowboys preseason game.

Perhaps the game as far as playoff slotting didn't matter but the way they were dominated by a .500 team is beyond troubling. Not sure you can just turn it around on a dime and this team is beginning to be a turnover machine. I hope I'm wrong... I do but I have zero confidence that they can go to Tampa and win.

in regards to our placement in playoff seeding, zero impact unless Eagles would have lost. but in regards to fine tunning your game to get ready for post season, yes, we sucked. I didn't care to win as much as I hated the way we played. just wanted to see some glimpses of us just being good and I didn't see any. the whole team stunk. coach, OC, DC, QB and on down the line. embarassing.

if they are all not super hyper focused and angry from this loss, they should all be fired. ALL of them

Most of the guys on here quit on the team after the first game of the year.

Yesterday didn’t matter and fans/talking heads are overreacting but the offensive line, Left cornerback and Dak were awful yesterday. It’s troubling that they had 9 three and outs against Washington.
THIS...is why I chuckle when I hear: "but they've been the highest scoring offense since Dak came back". Dallas has, in fact, NOT been the league's best offense since Dak came back...because points alone don't tell the whole story...especially in light of the fourth quarter against the Colts.

Week 18 only mattered if the Eagles lost. The Eagles established an early lead in their game and so it seems the scoreboard watchers informed the Cowboys coaching staff of his as to adjust effort in Washington accordingly. It was a halfhearted approach to the game.
The 49ers were watching the same scoreboard and won by 25 points. Seems like the Cowboys are still the softer team.

No one knows the answer to this question. But I am concerned that a performance like that by Dak, with him having to come out in front of the cameras and explain another miserable performance, is going to hurt his psyche. How does Dak come back next week after yesterdays garbage performance with a high degree of confidence? Hopefully he has a good week of practice but I imagine every time he throws the ball he worries it is going to the wrong spot and he is going to get burned again.

Dak's mental errors are becoming more frequent. So are his bad throws.

And how about the coaches confidence in the defense. Washington ran a rookie out there who had never started a game and the defense struggled at times. Who is CB2? Will there be any confidence in that guy?

That was such a comedy of errors yesterday and the OL got whipped pretty bad too. Maybe they can rally if Biadasz comes back and McGovern and Tyler Smith move back to their regular positions.

....Yep, I believe so. Better fix the OL issues. They need Bias back asap. The OL now, cant wall off blockers for Zeke/TP to run through.

They are getting beat at point of attack. If that OL playing now, goes out against Tampa. It could very possibly be long night .

Are main issue was yesterday, was running. THey avg 2.9 yd.

The defense did ok. They were gassed by 3rd qter. Offense was going 3 n outs.
