Hopefully not.
It's exciting to have one of the best teams again, the potential has created so much hope.
It's obviously a great feeling when your Cowboys win the Super Bowl. However, let me warn you about the reverse.
The closer you get to a Super Bowl championship before your Cowboys lose, the worse it hurts, particularly when it's really close.
Super Bowl losses and conference championship losses hurt far more than divisional and wildcard playoff losses.
The narrowes margins of defeat hurt far more than a blowout because, hey, if they got their butts whooped then the other team was clearly better. However, when you know they lost by a single play, a single action, that play lives on forever.
Close Super Bowl losses linger like any horrifying memory.
And every single time the Cowboys have lost a championship it has been really REALLY close.
...two losses to the Packers on the last play
.....a 3 point Super Bowl loss to the Colts on a last minute field goal.
.....two 4 point Super Bowl losses to the Steelers.
The Cowboys have lost 5 NFL championship games, every single one by 7 points or less. Before Super Bowl 25, the three closest games in Super Bowl history were the 3 that the Cowboys lost.
The Cowboys have won 5 NFL championship games, every single one by double digits.
The Dallas Cowboys have never been lucky, quite often they have been unlucky. Therefore, they can only win a Super Bowl by dominating leaving nothing to chance
The Cowboys average margin of victory for their five SB victories is 20 points, the total combined margins of victory for the Patriots is 13.
Why is this all true? The answer is simple. The Dallas Cowboys are God's team. That's right. God loves the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, you may have noticed by reading the bible that when God loves you, it's not a guaranteed ticket to a life of ease, luxury and pleasure. God doesnt want to appear to play favorites so he's got to be tougher on the ones he loves. He places certain "trials" on those he loves.
I mean, if they don't get eaten by lions in the Roman arena then they are being crucified, They might end up getting swallowed by a whale or their old lady gets turned into a pillar of salt.
He has a sense of humor so you could get punked.. "Hey Abe, you know that son that took 500 years for me to give you, yeah, kill him to prove you love me."
Then in Abraham's most traumatic, painful moment,
"Yo, Abe! Pysch, LOL, you were going to do it too!"
So, it's tough being Gods favorite team, the Cowboys dont get breaks during the game, not the good kind, at least. To win championships the Cowboys have to be unquestionably the best team. That is their "trial" and we fans suffer as a result.
I'm not trying to depress you and I am not jinxing the team. As I explained, I dont have too if I wanted.
It's all part of the package when your team is a great one.
