Yeah, definitely. Let's cut a WR who, in the past three seasons has 3587 yards and 38 TDs for us. That's how you make the team better.
what team? we have a collection of overpaid dummies, not a team.

any playoff wins?

how's our "teams" late nov & december record with TO.

we lost with him and can just as easily win or lose without him.

Painfully obvious, like Choices 4+ yards per carry. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Why bother watching the games when you can just make up opinions as they suit you.
Our O-line is about as inconsistent at run blocking as it can get.

It's mind boggling. Cut your best player, because make no mistake, Terrell Owens is the best football player we have on offense. You will not replace that production without trading for another #1 WR from another team, and we pretty much had that go out the window when Jerry gave away our first round pick for 19 catches and 200+ yards and a TD.

TO is not the problem, he's just an easy target for blame, and piling on, which is what everybody is doing, they are just following the bully(media), because thats the easy thing to do instead of thinking for yourself.

TO is a problem if you consider leading the team in Yards and TDs every year equals a huge distraction. If TO was elsewhere, we would not have heard anything about him in the last 3 years except for the overdose incident.

Prior to TO coming, we had Meshawn and Joey Galloway in our Dec meltdowns instead.

Like we said-nothing's changed.

Its even more laughable when you consider that Romo has been running for his life the past few weeks when Choice has been averaging 5.1 per carry.

So you use a QB's passer rating to determine his greatness? C'mon doggy. Lucky passer rating doesnt include fumbles.

Less sacks = less fumbles.

You can look it up.

You dont win in the NFL like this, its stupid even trying. You run the football, thats how you win games, you win the battle at the LOS, you soften them up, work a few playactions and you grind it out when you have to. This greatest show on earth vol. 2.0 sucks ***, and wont ever be anything.

exactlyyyyyyy

See the Carolina Panthers for example
See the New York Giants for example
See the Tennessee Titans for example

All three of those teams have 2 or 3 running backs. And each back on their team has extreme talent. You take a look at Carolina. They have Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Deangelo Williams 1500 yards 18 scores. Jonathan Stew"hurt" 800 yards 10 scores. Add that to the fact that they have one of the most powerful defensive lines in football and a secondary that is solid enough to limit receivers, and they got themselves a division title and a first round bye......

Look at the Giants.....Brandon Jacobs 1000 yards 15 scores, Derrick Ward 1000 yards a pair of TD's, Ahmad Bradshaw 350 and a score.....Combine that powerful rushing attack with a very solid defense and a QB who manages the game, picking up occasional first downs and you got yourself a division title and a first round bye.

On to the Titans.....(ROOKIE) Chris Johson 1200 yards 9 scores, Lendale White 750+ yards 15 scores. We all know just how damn good that Titans defense is as well. Combine that with Kerry Collins, who is a known game manager, and you got yourself a team that started off the season 11-0 and finished the season with 13 wins, a division title and a first round bye....

It is the path to success in this NFL......and WE HAVE those pieces in the right places. We have all the talent in the world to be up there with the top teams in this league, it all comes down to coaching. IF JERRY MAKES CHANGES, THE RIGHT CHANGES, to this staff in the offseason, starting with the firing of offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and Offensive Line coach Hudson Houck, we might have hope.....

I AM DREAMING, I know, but its all I have got left to hang my hat on. PLEASE JERRY MAKE A DAMN CHANGE!!!!

Plug in any Cowboys player to that:

how's our "teams" late nov & december record with Witten.

we lost with him and can just as easily win or lose without him.

how's our "teams" late nov & december record with Ware.

we lost with him and can just as easily win or lose without him.

how's our "teams" late nov & december record with Leonard Davis.

we lost with him and can just as easily win or lose without him.

how's our "teams" late nov & december record with Ratliff.

we lost with him and can just as easily win or lose without him.

AND WE WON ZERO PLAYOFF GAMES.

what the hell does that have to do with your offense last season? Fact is, it was lights out. Yea we lost to the Giants by 4 points. It wasn't because of our offensive philosphy. Because if I remember correctly Barber had 120+ yards in the 1st half of that playoff loss.

And I think people are overrating this running game just like we have including myself have done this team. We overrate the talent on this team.

Do I like our running game? I love it? Does it have talent? I'd like to think it does. But it has PROVEN SQUAT. I've seen this before. I've seen Troy Hambrick look lights out one season and 2 years later be out of the league. I've seen Julius Jones look like the next great running back for the Dallas Cowboys and 3 years later the Cowboys refuse to resign him. I've seen this. So unlike we do the rest of the talent on this team let's actually let them prove we have a effective running game. Because right now I see a lot of negative yardage. I see a lot of 2nd and 12's. I see alot of bad blitz pickups. I see a lot of problems the offensive line has opening up holes.

So yea I like our running game and think we have something to build on. But its has proved absolutely nothing when it comes to building a whole team around it. Atleast this offense with decent playcalling has proven to be effective.

Just pointing out for the record that Parcells got run out on a rail around here for attempting to win this way.

Its so ironic seeing calls for a "bus driver" now.

Dont go to extremes, just because I am calling for a run based offense doesnt mean I want Teste, or anyone like that running this team. Good winning teams have an elite running game, its a fact.

If the Cowboys were running basically the same offense that they did in Quincy Carter's last year, but with today's personnel, I think they'd be pretty good.

But I do wonder if Romo can be an effective game manager type of QB, given his ball security issues. Still, overall, he'd be better than Quincy ....

yep, just check my previous post........

Im with you 100%. This is the change that we need to see in order for this team to be successful..

Change Romo to a game managing QB, because he definitely has the talent to get you plays when you need them, and turn this into a run first offense, utilizing the power of Marion Barber, the speed of Felix Jones, and the elusiveness of Tashard Choice. Combine that with a solid defense and we got ourselves one helluva football team.....

I agree, and am on board. Nor do I think Bill ever saw Vinny or Drew for that matter as long term solutions. I think he just got saddled by the GM for a while with the Quincy, Hutches and Hensons of the world.

But a successful running game trumps all in this league. Always will.

Running is how you win games?

So in 2001 when Dallas was 3rd in the NFL in rushing attempts, we should have won more than 5 games right? And in 2005, when we were 5th, we should have been a lock for the playoffs.

Teams who are ahead run the ball more, teams don't necessarily get ahead by running the ball.

The Eagles defense outscored the Dallas offense.

Jerry must know that changes have to be made, doesn't he?

Total statiscal aberrations.

Good teams run it early, run it often and run it late to secure leads.

Well, 4 of the people in the top 20 for Career passer rating are in the HoF. Marino, Kelly, Young and Montana. Another 6 or 7 of those 20 are potential mustard jacket wearers. Almost everyone on that list has played in a Super Bowl and about half of them have won. Good QBs have good QB ratings, relative to their peers. You can revolve offense around good QBs. Romo is a good QB.

No one's debating that, but if you wanna look at passer ratings when they matter the most, check my sig.
