Can't wait for us to cut Dustin. Kid has gotten way too much ink. PS if he makes it. So long if he doesn't.

And I haven't seen jack **** from him. I'm still wondering where this mystical guy is that everyone here keeps saying is the future.

The coaches like Randle more because he is better at pass protection. A backup RB is obviously going to be a dropoff in running production from the starter - but if your #1 back goes out, you just can't put a guy out there down after down who doesn't pass protect well.

The problem we have with these backs is similar to problems we've had in the past. Our #1 is just the best in terms of running, receiving, and pass blocking of the group. That means we want him on the field all the time.

The reason we like Randle is that he can actually block at a similar level to Murray. If we go with Randle it is all about how you keep Murray healthy - by trying to cut out a few snaps every game. Williams is the guy you want if Murray goes down, Randle is the guy you want playing 7-8 snaps a game to give Murray a breather without getting Romo killed.

So, you would cut or trade Dunbar?

I don't see Randle lining up at all in the backfield unless Murray or Dunbar go down. And from what I've seen of him on STs I don't know if I want to really see him dressed on Sundays.

I know if we are trying to run clock with a lead I would feel better with Williams running the ball than Randle.

No. I'd actually prefer Randle because neither are going to grind out yards. Randle let's you pass at least

Yeah, Vaughn sure looks like he's a player. He's PS material

That took a really great insight from an entire team of players on the field...that just looked dull and uninspired.

Now, care to review his previous work? I don't single out another's post to introduce my own thoughts of a single game's reflections.

He may well have placed himself into a safe category for a practice squad position...but that doesn't take Divine Grace to see as well...for the record.

there has to be someone better than hayden they can pick up.

This.

Hayden is horrible. How on earth he is even being considered to be an NFL caliber player is beyond me.

If he makes the team and gets any sort of playing time, which at this point is a real possibility, we deserve all the all the horribleness that will ensue.

If you are gonna pass Dunbar will be fine if Murray goes down. If you need to put a game away and Murray isn't there gimme Williams.

Dunbar is a change of pace guy. Quick passes in space, runs in a spread O... That's his role. Unchanged by the other backs

Scott Linehan still has a set of expectations for Lance Dunbar for the offense. I don't think that a bad night by
Vaughan, Dustin changes the spelling of his name as well.

In his second season, Joseph Randle put on some solid size and came into camp in better shape. Except for a slight injury, he has been a better alternative for the positional group.

Do we have a better 1 tech. on the team? Do you know what McClain can do? And if he makes the team and the D-line attacks in waves as we have heard, don't you think he will have significant playing time even as a backup?

I know what Hayden can do and other than getting blown off the ball at the snap 3 to 5 yards more times than not and providing absolutely no pass rush, it ain't much.

As has been mentioned, there has to be somebody out there that we can trot out there that is better than that hot garbage.

You guys are over exaggerating on Hayden . He stuffs his gap well on 1st down. He will be rotated out on passing downs. Big deal . Better than bishop and coleman getting dominated.

Chris Jones subbed for Wilfork when he went down last season and racked up 5.5 sacks in 11 games, as a rook. Pats are loaded at DT, Jones and Eathyn Manumaleuna are potential cuts. Tommy Kelly also looked good early in preseason.

They will be looking for a DT who is a 1/3 and a DE who can rush. Don't expect a great DE but I agree we might be able to find a DT. Problem is we are in the middle of the waiver wire. Maybe we can get a vet who doesn't go thru waivers.

Keep 2 or 3
G Leary, Ronald
G Martin, Zack
G Bernadeau, Mackenzy
G Nwaneri, Uche

G Patrick, Ronald

Nice post as usual. I believe you meant "Keep 3 or 4" here. After last night, it's looking like 3 unless we pick up a guard from another roster. I also think we'll pick up a LB from another team (depth and ST). I like your thinking at RB. I would really hate for us to cut R. Williams and keep Clutts.

The OL was putrid last night. Not sure where anyone saw much to be happy about. They didn't open holes and they were getting whipped in pass protection. So we have the starting 5. We have Parnell as swing tackle. Bernadeau is our swing guy inside. Nwaneri was bad last night. Wetzel and Patrick can go to PS but Wetzel is definitely limited to RT. I guess Weems is our 9th OL but only on past performance because he has been injured all of camp. I'd be looking for another G/T type to be honest.

Vaughan is PS material only. He was shellshocked last night and never threw a pass more than 10 yds down field...looks like McGee checking down. No one is going to grab him off PS. I would look to Connor Shaw if the Browns don't keep him active.

just based on the talent i think keeping 4 rb's and 6 wr's is the answer. the problem is having the depth you need at other spots especially early in the season. having so many on the defense either hurt or suspended is going to cost us a player who is better than the one we keep at another spot but there is not much you can do about that. somewhere you have to go short so it's likely to be either rb or wr and while the one we cut will be better than the one we keep, thats the price you pay to fill your roster with the injuries and suspensions
