Jimma's two Super Bowls and Barry's one Super Bowl. Man, those were the days.
Landry years don't do it anymore. Jimma set the standard.

We just weren't that good.

You must be a Niners fan or something because the Dallas Cowboys were outstanding that year.

We had the best record in the NFC and 2nd best in the league (we were 12-4, the Chiefs went 13-3). Both Emmitt and Irvin had their best seasons that year, Aikman had his 2nd best season, and we went on to win the SB. How can you possibly justify your statement "we just weren't that good"? Was there another team that was better that season?

ummm...whatever
We looked out of synch by the end of the season and the SB.
The downfall was easy to predict.

1979 would be third even though it is a season we did not win a Super Bowl like the other two. It was Roger's last year. It was one of his best years ever. His last game remains my all time favorite game. That game was worth the entire season in some ways. Captain Comeback at his absolute best.

That came out of nowhere. First time in my football watching career I felt.............feeble.

1991 is an underrated year. You could just feel that we were turning the corner on the journey back to respectability. Beating the Eagles in Philly to secure a wildcard spot and defeating the Bears a week later was a nice one-two punch.

He's probably remembering that blowout loss to the Niners earlier that year. I remember Bayless stating the the only reason we won a fifth championship is because Green Bay did us a favor by knocking San Fran out of the playoffs.

I'm gonna go with 92, 93, and 95. The only super bowl years I was alive to see.

Pelluer to Karl Powe for the key 1st down that clinched the game as I recall. Verne Lundquist on the call for CBS.

Wasn't this also the game where Jeffcoat picked off a Too Tall tipped ball took it for a TD?

Yes, that was a 3rd and 27 play or something outrageous like that. They scored on that drive to clinch the game.

1985 was the first season that I had both a VCR and a subscription to the Cowboys Weekly (which was much more informative and valuable back then). I had to work during a couple of the games that year and the VCR enabled me to see the games later.

Yeah, but the only reason we lost that game like that was because Aikman wet out early and we had Wade Wilson at QB for most of the game until Garrett came in at the end.

There's no way we would have lost to the Niners in the playoffs that season.

We opened the season with a 35-0 crushing of the Giants. Emmitt took the first play and ran 60 yards for a TD (I had that picture as my desktop for many years). He ran for 163 yards and 4 TDs in that game and I remember knowing at the time that we were going all the way that year!

The only real bummer in the season was losing to the Commanders twice. t hurt even worse because they went 6-10 that year and weren't very good. But then that has been the beauty of this rivalry since the early 70s.

In the NFC Championship Game against the Packers, the media were all picking Green Bay but we put a nice beatdown on them. It was Aikman to Irvin early then a heavy dose of Emmitt down the stretch as he scored 3 TDs in the game, 2 in the 4th quarter to seal the deal. Emmitt had 150 yards on 35 carries and Irvin had 7 catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs.

It was so sweet to shut up all the experts who had said we couldn't beat either the Niners or the Packers that year.

2007 It was the best of the recent seasons. As difficult as the playoff game was, I really enjoyed watching Romo and company that year.

1992. For obvious reasons which have already been hit on.

1981. Due to my age, it's probably one of the first seasons that I remember really well. We had an excellent team with a variety of stars.

77, 92 & 93

Honorable mentions to 1990 and 1991 though. It was obvious by the end of the 90 season we were well on our way back, and in 1991 we finally returned to the playoffs and won a game (on the road, at Chicago)

1993: My first full season as a Cowboys fan, at age 8. Became a fan in January 1993, before the NFC Championship game in SF (great timing, huh?).

1995: The ultimate "*** you, we're still #1" Super Bowl win. My favorite of the 3 from the '90s, only because it pissed off the rest of America so much. If you weren't a Cowboys fan, there was no doubt that you were rooting for Pittsburgh... whether you were a Steelers fan or not. Goliath smashed David.

2006: Ended brutally (botched FG attempt) but we had finally found our next great QB who will take us to the promised land. In Tony I Trust.

1. 1977

2. 1995 - Very few things in my life gave me as much pleasure as watching the Steelers fall in defeat. Heck, I was so thankful that I fell on my knees. If it were not for the Commanders, Pittsburgh would be the number one team on my greatest dislike list.

3. 1992

1992 - was young when they won in 1977 so i waited my whole life for this. The NFC Championship game was the pinnacle. I waited my whole life for that victory. I knew the Super Bowl win was ours.

1993 - sweet repeat

1995 - 3 in 4 years. You knew when the Cowboys played for home field against the Cards in Buddy Ryan's final game, it had a Super Bowl feel, as if you knew they would be back there in a month.

2010 (season) - Cowboys end playoff win drought and the younger guys here can finally say " We are all witnesses ! "

1. 1980 - Danny's first year as the starting QB. I know the season ended with the bitter loss to the Eagles, but what an awsome season it was. Every one remember the pounding that the Cowboys gave the Niners and Seahawks that year? The wildcard win over the Rams and the come-back win against the Falcons will always be special memories for me:)

2. 1991 - Like someone said earlier, as this season progressed you could just feel the team was on the verge of being really special. I hated to see Troy get hurt, but what a heck of a job Steve Beuerlein did in place of Aikman. The win over the Bears in the wildcard game was sweet :)

3. 1995 - The victory over the Packers in the NFC title game was one of the most memorable wins in team history for me. I could not talk for 2 days from all the yelling I did and I watched the game at home! The victory over the Steelers was special, but I trade this win for a win in either SB X or XIII:starspin

1992- Pure Magic. And we beat the hated 49ers, righting the wrong done in the Tragedy of '81

1993-repeat 1st team to win Super Bowl after 0-2 start. Really, when Emmitt was healthy we didn't lose that year (He was hurt Sunday before Lett fiasco) If he had played all 16 games that year... The best of the 90s Cowboy teams imo.

1995-1st team to win 3 in 4 years. Only regret is we did not gain revenge on Niners for 1994.
